Broncos: Easiest path to the #1 seed ever?

What's funny about the "system" argument is that Brady's played in vastly different offensive styles, ranging from the Mark Sanchez "don't screw it up" system in 2001-2004 to the "It's all on you" games of 2006, to the "Throw deep, throw short" of 2007-2010, to the "2 TEs and a midget WR" of 2011-2012. Meanwhile, Manning's such a system QB that he actually brought his system to Denver and forced the entire offense to learn his system instead of just going to Denver and adapting to what McCoy wanted to run.

Didn't ya hear Manning's been learning a whole new system which is why he had a slow start! Don't mind Thomas and Decker running the same timing routes Marvin and Reggie ran in Indy that's your mind playing tricks on you :D

What a ******** you really are!
Au revoir tools. Think of me when you pansies get it handed to you in Denver!
Go ***** yourself New England

I can see that somebody's mom is getting mad. Later tool.

After seeing what idiots these Broncos fans are from this thread,I now more than ever want ANY team in the AFC to knock off the Broncos from the SB.....at this point I don't care who knocks them down,

I tried to tell people about their fanbase. Take a gander at BroncosCountry.com sometime if you feel like having a good laugh. Denver has some really good people and knowledgeable football fans, but you definitely wouldn't know it by reading that board.

The fact that they absolutely idolized Tebow as their franchise saving QB is bad enough, but then when they did a 180 when Rent-a-QB came along and said Tebow was never anything but a joke gives you an idea of how delusional they are about their team. I guess rooting for a mediocre team for so many years can do that to you. I call what they're experiencing now 'Manning Disease' and the Pats or another team have an obligation to help stamp it out. :)

The changes in Offensive Coordinators were not insignificant, but nothing like what a guy like Alex Smith had to handle.

The other variable throughout the 11 year stretch is the quality (or lack thereof) of the running backs as ball carriers or pass receivers. Some years Brady had both and some years he had neither. Kevin Faulk was something of a consistent presence, but his value as a threat changed with the changes around him.

If there is a consistency for Brady, it has been Dante Scarnecchia and the offensive line which blocked capably for the running backs and kept him upright for the most part every year. They certainly protected Matt Cassell in 2008 and made his ascendancy possible.

One can make the argument that if a team has a good to great offensive line every year, you can change all the other parts and put a capable offense on the field.

Which brings me back to Alex Smith as the best off-season acquisition the Pats could make. Smith would be the backup we've all been wanting on sideline when Brady needs to come or out or is dinged up.

That line actually gave up more sacks (48) than any other team that year. Sometimes I think that the Oline looks a lot better than it really is because of Brady.

Of course the Pats are my biggest hope but if they slip up then I am going to root hard for the team playing Denver.

In other words,Denver has temporarily replaced the Jets and Steelers in the hatred category

I can't bring myself to hate Broncos' fans as its like hating the handicapped. Its not their fault they are so clueless. Its not like Jets or Steelers fans which have more than their fair share of low life scum. In comparison, Broncos fans are just on another level with their homer delusions.

If the two teams meet up and Denver gets their ass handed to them again, I'll be at the Broncos forums watching the epic meltdown for a week. Ian, can we un-ban this asshat if/when it happens?

Don't worry since they will be eliminated next week by the colts. Colts will beat them in a upset.

I don't see the Colts making it past the Ravens.

In a perfect 2013 NFL playoffs world, the Bengals would beat the Texans, the Colts would beat the Ravens, The Bengals would beat the Broncos, the Patriots would beat the Colts and the Patriots would beat the Bengals to face the Vikings in the Super Bowl.

I'd rather see the Patriots exact revenge on the Ravens (with real refs this time) sending Ray Lewis into retirement, followed by a whupping on the Broncos sending Peyton Manning into retirement, followed by a blowout of the 49ers tying Brady with Joe Montana.

Ok, and fair enough, but let me 'splain mine:

Bengals win would be first win for bad coach and would save his job
Texans loss would lead to turmoil on best non-Patriots team in AFC

Colts win would be slap in face of the "Peyton = MVP" clowns
Ravens loss would be end of hearing crap about Flacco, and increase likelihood of changes that could lead to a guy like Reed being available for the Patriots.

Broncos loss would give the 5-head yet another one-and-done and would shut up the Broncos trolls who are already infesting this board

Patriots v. Colts would be the battle of generations, between Brady and Luck

Patriots over Bengals would just be disposal of the only remaining opponent

Patriots over Vikings would be best QB over best RB

If a neutral outside observer was to read this thread and didn't know what site it was on it would be quite obvious which fans rooted for a team that has been there before, and which team was looking for it's first playoff success in ages. This year it's Denver turn to hope to be the upstart that knocks off the champion.

The Pats have been the dominant franchise in the NFL for over 10 years now and, while it gets tiresome, I can understand the hate we get from other fan bases; we'd probably be the same way if we had to watch one team always be a prime competitor to win the Superbowl without having a down year like every other team has.

It's based on envy, and if you all remember the Steelers, 49ers, or Cowboys dynasties, you may be able to relate to their feelings.

Of course those dynasties didn't last nearly as long as the Pats' dominance has; I guess the hate we endure is a worthwhile trade off for all the pleasure the Pats have given us fans for the last 10+ years.

Just a couple of things:

1.) I never hated the Steelers or 49ers, and I had no issues with the Landry era Cowboys, and I've never understood hating another's greatness just for the sake of it.

2.) The Patriots have another few years to catch up to the 49ers time of dominance. They went to the playoffs 16 times in an 18 year stretch (Missing only in a strike year and a 10 win year), and won Super Bowls 13 years apart.

That's a good point and I don't think the media ever tried to engender resentment against the Steelers, 49ers, or Cowboys. Maybe it's more obvious now and a byproduct of the omnipresent media presence, but the media never seems to have warmed to the Pats, with the exception of the 2001 win when, while it spoiled the final chapter of their "Greatest Show on Turf" narrative, it was still a classic "David and Goliath" result that they could write about.

Possibly before, but certainly since Spygate, the media has been noticeably anti-Pat and BB, and love to keep rehashing Spygate, or portray the Pasts as villains against whatever pure team the Pats are facing.

BB is often portrayed as a villain, instead of being lauded for running an organization 180 degrees out from the circus in the NJ Swamps.

Being a fan of the Pats has enhanced my viewing enjoyment of a gr8 franchise, while also increasing my antipathy for the sports media.

Knowing that Mark "What salary cap violation?" Schlereth and Tom "They hate their coach" Jackson would be upset at a Broncos and St Peyton loss is more than enough reason to hope the Pats, or any other team knocks off the overrated Broncos.

Been kind of bugging me about what the idiot was saying about how Pats should have destroyed the Jaguars.

Didn't Rodgers and the Packers struggle against them in Lambeau and that was when Gabbert was the QB? It was a 6-7 point game with about 10 minutes left. I think Jaguars held the Packers to under 250 yards total and out gained them by something like 100 yards

I would be just a little worried about the refs not wanting to be the ref who "took Ray Lewis' last shot at a champoinship away". Even though it would be in NE I could see calls going their way.

The Jaguars gained 458 yards and scored 37 points against the Texans.

I wonder how confidant the Broncos fans who have been coming here are now? When the Broncos destroyed the Ravens they were missing Lewis, Pollard, ****son, Yanda and it was Suggs first game back and he played with a torn bicep.
