I think I remember seeing the ball bobble around in his hands just as he starts going to the ground. But either way, it doesn't matter because he has to survive the ground if he hasn't already made a football move. It does, I admit, look weird and in real time it does look like it should be a catch and down by contact but it is definitely by the letter of the rule the right call

Picking up where we left off, 'gooses' likewise just doesn't have the same ring to it.

This may have already been said because I'm not going back and reading 89 pages, but on the Cooks INT watch that play again and imagine instead of McMillan coming up with the ball he knocked it loose and it fell incomplete. Would there be anyone saying it was a catch? No, because we all know you need to survive the ground.

It was a pick, plain and simple.

The fact that the other guy came away with the ball is prima facie evidence that he lost control - otherwise he would still have had the ball himself.

People act like they've never seen this sort of play before, it's funny.
