Patriots practice yet to start, but a positive sign -- OL Logan Mankins in uniform on field. A sign he is coming off PUP

Great news!

reiss was speculating this last week as well - that mankins would return shortly because he was on the practice field with the rest of the team doing rehab work along with vollmer. vollmer should be coming back soon as well. with waters most likely coming back after training camp, the pats oline situation is looking much better. im really worried about solder though - if after a couple seasons he still hasn't learned to bend his knees properly it's reason for concern. i can uinderstand if solder were a rookie though, but he's not. maybe the transistion from RT to LT is a lot for him.

Good to hear. Wonder how far away Vollmer is. I think it was Bedard who tweeted last week that Sea Bass was walking like a guy who still had a ways to go.

Yeah, out of all of them, Vollmer is the one that actually worries me the most.

He's been out for a long, long time with that chronic back issue.

Then again, the sign that he's been in shorts and a t-shirt is likely at least showing progression.

bummer.....

Spikes is back on the field too apparently.

I would like Waters to show up after the Eagles game.

Hoping Vollmer is able to practice soon, Then we can get Connolly back to center.

This was clearly done to cheer up the Taylor Price lovers on this board following his release from the Jaguars today. Well done BB, well done...

This is good.

Great to have Mankins back so soon! Even without Waters, a lineup like Solder-Mankins-Connolly-Thomas looks pretty strong. It's that 5th spot that's the problem.

Get well soon, SeaBass!

Wow! This is about a month earlier than I expected him back. That helps. Lets see how he's doing in a week or so. He can't hit until Tuesday.

It will be interesting to see what they do with Donald Thomas. Does he stat as the back up LG or does he now move to the right side.

I'm still not worried a bout Waters....yet. I expect him back to camp after the Monday night game. He gets a few plays in the 3rd game and a few more in the last game, and he's about 2 weeks ahead of where he was when he was signed just 5 days before the Miami game.

Its a long time to go before we start to see how things pan out. But this is GOOD news.

Amazing how fast these guys come back from knee injuries now. If they had the medical technology in the 70's that they do now Orr would have been shutting down Gretzky in the 88 Stanley Cup Finals.

Let's wait a bit. He has yet to see the field with shorts & shells yet never mind contact as soon as Tuesday. If he's really getting ready no need to rush this week.

It's good news, although my primary concern is Mankins is such a warrior I just wonder if he's forcing himself to come back a little bit too fast. Hopefully he eases his way back in and the knee is ready. If all goes well, we'll need him for at least 19 games this season

Once Vollmer comes back the O-line is instantly strong again and the offense will e ready to dominate. Waters is more of a bonus, I like Thomas.
