The Ultimate Brady vs. Ben Thread. Pittsburgh Troll Thinks They ARE in the same class

Ahhh, yes. When presented with the facts the Brady supporters are quick to change the subject and start assaulting the gentleman's character!

That may or may not be the case for 31 of them. I'm sure Tomlin would stick with his guy. He witnessed first hand the most incredible -backs against the wall- game winning drive in SB history.

What kind of "GENTLEMAN" rapes women??? But, then again it isnt RAPE for the WILLING

I sense these girls were trying to be "Profiteers by a LAWSUIT, but that is just me"

It might sound contradicting, but when did TFB put himself in such a slimy situation???

Hey Gatekeeper, go stand over there with all of the other people who regard Ben as a "gentleman."

Wait ... there's no one there?

Um, never mind.

By the way, "assaulting" was a particularly poor choice of words in this case, for reasons that are all to obvious to anyone with a three digit IQ, a full set of chromosomes and the barest modicum of human decency.

Anyone who honestly believes the thread title is a sports idiot. Please, please educate yourself and be a fan. Roethlisberger isn't on Brady's level. They both play quarterback and that's about it.

i would refrain from coining this thread "ultimate" since it (conveniently?) excludes the team records and individual quarterback statistics from the head-to-head match-ups these teams have playing since 2004 (postseason included).

Huge TFB fan. I would say that Brady is better than Ben.

BUT, the truth is that Ben doesn't get as much credit as he should I'd say... Certainly not in this thread.

He wins - finds ways to win. Foot, arm, effort. Good player.

Let's not also forget that Ben has more 4th quarter and overtime game winning drives in the NFL since 2004

I pick this one to tear into. And an easy task that is. Go count how many blowouts N.E. has had vs. pitt has had since 2k4. See the thing is it's really hard to have a game winning 4th qrtr. drive when you are up by 20-30- and a few times 40 and even one 50 off the top of my head. So, in my judgement if roetheliseburger (I still cant spell it sorry) was a better QB he'd have LESS game winning 4th and overtime drives because they would be scoring enough to not need them.

what the op should have done was research how many game-winning drive opportunities each quarterback has been presented with since 2004 and then calculate how successful each one was at executing the final drives for the win.

Generally delusional folk attempt to convince themselves on the merit of an argument often missing critical points. R-Burger is a good quarterback, but he's not an elite QB like Rodgers, Brees, P.Manning and Brady.

You just posted that Ben is equal to Brady in winning percentage.

Ben is 84-34
Brady 116-33

So, you're right, provided Ben goes 42-1 over his next 43 games. Oh please, trying to bring in a one game difference in the playoffs... that's weak.

I like how you just push away into the corner things like Brady's multiple records, MVPs, accolades, Super Bowl MVPs, etc.

Brady has been the better quarterback in all four Super Bowls. Ben has been the worse quarterback in all three Super Bowls.

PS. You are dumb.

Oh, so he was in the stands for SBs XXXVI and XXXVIII?

The only reason Ben is mentioned in the same sentence as Tom is because they are playing each other this week. If you ask the knowledgeable media members (Jaws, J.Johnson, Bradshaw, etc.) them to pick the a qb to win a must game. The list would include (not in any order): Montana, Manning, Unitas, Brady, Brees, Rogers. The second tier may include Rivers, Young, Warner, Marino, and somewhere in there is Ben. I've never heard anyone putting Ben in the elite group unless its game day at Pittsburgh and a third tier announcer is sniffing jocks.

This is not trolling. .... Ten or fifteen years from now, we will be able to look at each man's complete body of work and see who is on top!

First off, welcome Steeler fan.
Second off, Yes, you are a troll.
Third off, Brady and Ben are different. Ben is an out of the pocket improviser and Brady is, well, a good QB in the pocket.

But you can think whatever allows you to sleep at night.

There are many posts to reply to here. It's hard to keep up with them all. I see a lot of Ben haters and doubters are in the Boston area! I am waiting for some of my fellow comrads of the Black n Gold to join in and assist me in presenting the truth of Ben's elite status within the NFL QB ranks.

I will give a nod to those who point out that Tom has a better TD/Int ration and TD per attempt ratio. But I could also say that Ben has the highest QB rating in NFL history after first contact by a defender. That is a mighty impressive stat in and of itself. Well over 100, though I don't know the exact stat at this time.

Here is another stat worthy of mention. In one of the threads I saw a Pats fan mocking the fact that Ben has only thrown for 300 yards in back to back games once in his career, so he should not be expected to throw for 300 in this game.

Well, this Wikipedia link shows that Ben has as many 400+ yard games in his career (3) as Brady, and as many 500+ yard games as Brady (1). And I'm sure I do not need to point out that Ben has been playing far fewer years and thrown far fewer passes than Tom.

I will go so far as to make a guarantee that Ben will throw for at least 300 yards in this game, and if it's a shootout, he may reach 400. Mark it down! If he does this, and especially if the Steelers win, you can expect to see me back here reaping my accolades. If this does not happen, or if NE wins convincingly, don't expect to see me around here for awhile...at least until these two teams meet again, by which time hopefully everyone will have forgotten about this guarantee.

Big Ben is a winner play and simple, there are no two ways about it . . . and does not get a lot of credit as he doesn't put up the crazy qb stats . . . which has something to do with play calling and your teammates . . . for example driving the entire field and then the Bus comes in and does a 1 yard run and the team gets a rushing TD as opposed to a passing TD . . . so to a degree Big Ben may not get the stats that he might get had he had a different set of teammates . .

Big Ben is the best broken play QB in the league and does not have a good of an oline as TB . . .

however with that said, i can't put ben in tom's league . . . ben can make more mistakes . . . and yes he did help his team to get to three super bowls, but did not have to go through NE (in 2005 the NFL took care of us in Denver, in 2008 TB injuried, and 2010 the green beans, two of these are not TB's fault)

i do think that the two SBs were handed to a degree to the Rooneys, i really wish the cards won't sb 43 . . so to a degree, i don't think those SBs are clean wins . . .

as for the game winning TD, it came down to who had the ball last, can't fault TB for there being time on the clock in SB 42, had it been later in the 4th, then that would be a drive . . .

i think ben is great and perhaps does not get the credit that he deserves, but he does get help from is D, and the two SBs have a caveat in my book . . .

my two cents . . .

The first sign of a troll and by the fourth post. We suck and/or are too stupid to realize the TRUTH. You'll be posting in BLOCK CAPITALS soon.:D

Guess what Steeler fan boi, Ben does have "off field" issues that do need to be addressed, and you did not address them. For instance Brady did not have a sub par season after motorcycle riding, nor has he been suspended.

Ben has a career rating of 92.7, while Brady is at 95.6. Slight edge to Brady although both rank within the top list of all time QB ratings.

However, Ben does hold a significant advantage over Brady in terms of career yards per attempt. Brady = 7.5, Ben = 8.1.

Why is 3 points higher on the passer rating scale SLIGHLTY higher, while just over half a yard in yards per attempt is a SIGNIFICANT ADVANTAGE?

And you feel to mention Ben's 22.6 passing rating in the Super Bowl against the Seahawks, a game that the refs gave to the Steelers.

Gee, that's convenient. How about you just stop posting now regardless?
