A look ahead: Anyone with ideas of how to slow Brandon Marshall down?

I say let's have Good Ol Boy Matt Light bring his skeet shooting apparatus to the game.

One of the funniest things ever was watching Light's futility in trying to teach Asante Samuel how to shoot at his celebrity charity fund raising event.

10-yard cushion?

did you see yesterday cromartie give a 10 yard cushion to their receivers ? its not just the pats defenders as everyone suspects...

I'm more concerned what were going to do to stop them overall. If the Jets game is any indication they'll get us into nickel packages and just run it down our throats, and if we do go to our base they'll just pass it around to Marshall or one if their other receivers.

Beat me to it. Been watching other teams' cushions and see the same thing. DID see Cro line up close but the WR then blew by him.

Use miracle Star Trek medical technology on Bodden.

Otherwise, we are screwed.

yeah ,lots of teams do it. yet some people think that is the cure all for our our secondary.

Yes....we can slow him down by having a tight secondary and an aggressive defense that will put pressure on the quarterback.....oh...damn wait a minute...

This was my pick for this year's offensive MVP as I think he will settle down as a Dolphin and become the player the Broncos thought they had.

When Brandon is at his best he is one of the toughest receivers in the league to try and contain and one of the tallest to try and outjump.

Is there any certain way our below average secondary can do anything to be able to slow Brandon down so he does not hit 200 receiving yards next monday night and how can we stop the Dolphins from scoring at will?

At 6'4 he is a load to contain,we can't stop him only try and slow him down, this guy is a monster right now with near 300 receiving yards already and could reach 1,500 yards at this pace.

Double coverage will lead to others like Fasano and Bess to have big days so I don't think that is the answer.

Is the only hope to try to outscore them? - I don't see a pass rush making a difference since we don't have one and I would not rush anyway since they have two solid RBs and the wildcat which certainly will be used.

Suggestions for BB to consider? :),I don't think even he has thought of a way to stop him yet.

I'll qualify this by stating I'm a Dolphins fan. In any event, I think the way to stop Marshall is to stop Henne. They clicked in the Jets game but I still think Henne's prone to making mistakes when he's getting pressured. Last night the Jets didn't really apply much at all so he had time for Marshall and the other WRs to get open. When he was pressured I thought his throws were erratic. I think his limitations at this stage of his career are more mental than physical. So to me I think the key for the Patriots D (and stopping Marshall) is whether hat-for-hat they can outplay Miami's O-Line.

Plant some drugs in his car. Tip police. Done and done.

Sledge hammer to the knee cap is about the only way I know of. He should once again have a field day against our secondary.

Answer me this: Which Brandon Marshall is showing up? The one who was almost non-existent in the first two games of the season or the one that smoked Cromartie most of the night last night? The Marshall who played vs. the Bills and Vikes isn't that hard to stop. The one from last night is near impossible.

I'd say start by looking at what San Diego did differently in the 2nd game of 2008 (18 receptions for 166 yards, 1 TD) and subsequent games: (6 catches for 55 yards and 0 TD; 5 catches for 49 yards and 0 TD; 3 catches for 26 yards and 0 TD.)

No disrespect to Marshall, but I'm more concerned with Ronnie Brown. Last year Marshall had games with less than fifty yards, compared to three 100-yard games since the start of the 2009 season.

Marshall is the same guy from game to game. The better question is which quarterback shows up?

That is probably true. My point was that Marshall wasn't much a factor in the first two games and a huge factor last night. Ironically, that was the Dolphins' first loss.

If you double him with Butler and Arrington it might add up to 1 NFL cornerback. (No offense guys, it's just too easy.)

Let him wrestle or fall I mean the dudes hip is worse than my grandma...
