Default 14-2 versus 14-42

I saw a stat that amazed me. Last year the Celtics won their 14th game in their 56th game. this year it took them until their 16th game.
14-2 (2007-08) versus 14-42 (2006-07).
And Doc is playing the big three less per game saving them up for the long season....

19-2 now. Unbelievable. I'll be honest, I thought the whole thing was going to backfire on them and they wouldn't win 50 games. But I haven't been this excited about a Celtics season in 15 years.

I am just curious why you thought the acquisition of Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett would backfire...not being confrontational...just curious. I thought they would be good but not this good. The true test will be the west coast trip. I am hoping Duncan and Parker are healthy when they play the Spurs.

I guess you could say the real surprise has been the bench and the continued development of Rondo.

I didn't think they'd be BAD, but there were a number of reasons I didn't see them as a real contender:

* I wasn't sure the 3 personalities would mesh.
* I couldn't imagine all 3 staying healthy for the whole year
* I didn't think the bench was deep enough.

Happily, I've been proven wrong thus far. All 3 have been playing well together, Allen's missed some time, but so far they've been blowing people out allowing KG to play 28 minutes some days and the bench, Posey and Davis in particular, have surpassed what I expected.

I had actually thought of putting $1,000 in Vegas on the under for their win total this year. Glad I didn't!

A big test will be Detroit this Wednesday too. This is the most I've been excited for the Celtics in 15 years.
