For someone who likes to complain so much about people reading between the lines, you're doing a fine job yourself.

I do think there is such thing as running up the score, and I do think there were times this year the Patriots did go a little overboard (not to the extent as others often imply, but there were times I was shaking my head.)

That said, the Super Bowl is precisely when you don't mess around in terms of scoring as much as you can. The other team is a high quality NFL team, who earned the right to be there, so if you're able to beat them down, they shouldn't expect mercy.

I don't care if the Patriots win by 1 or 50, it will feel the same to me either way (though the latter will lead to less shouting and throwing things during the game, I'd venture).

I just NEW that was coming! Troll. Eli will get beat up bad and will never be same again. Take that to the bank! I was so happy the Giants came in thier buriel suits. That shows they plan for the own demise. Don't worry though, we brought shovels. Now copy this down or write it on your forehead backwards so you can see it everytime you look in the mirror.

BLOW-OUT!!!!!

Giants have only scored 38 points once this season and 14 of those were interception returns. Your next highest output was 35 in week one or two when they got their asses handed to them by Dallas. NE has allowed a high of 35 points all year.

Do you really believe that the Giants will put up their seasons best points AND the Pats will allow their seasons worst point total?

What are the odds of that happening? Actually, what are the odds that you explain how the Giants score 38 and the Pats score 34.

We went through this whole rigmarole with him earlier this week. He's not going to be dissuaded from his position, and thankfully mods moved him to VLR this time. We'll just have to wait and let the Patriots do the talking on Sunday.

I don't understand your point. Yes, I will clearly say that I do not believe there is any such thing as running up the score in the NFL. Happy? And even if there is, the Pats running a third string back up the gut 4 times in a row is NOT it. That's the most honorable thing a team can do, IMO.

Glad you feel your team can win, that's what a fan should do. I think that Pats win but the Giants cover the spread, so perhaps you can feel that is a "victory" Sunday night.

Let's assume the Pats get off to a good start... take control of the game and Giants lose all hope of a win.

Do you think Belichick will run up the score, or do you think he will run out the clock ?

(For the record, I think the chances of this happening are very very slim... in fact I predict Giants 38 Pats 34.)
He will run up the score.
Or, at least be accused of running up the score.
You can't run up the score in a Super Bowl. That's ridiculous.

I went to the 86 SB against the Bears. Final score if my memory is correct, 45-10. I never left the game thinking they were running up the score. Total nonsense. They blew us out. Pure and simple.

This baloney of running up the score is just total nonsense. Geez, it is just as bad as the word class. Oh NO, not the word class again. Please.

So, a team should think, gee, we are a bit ahead, maybe we should just stop playing.

This stuff is just over the top nonsense.

I hope the Patriots ring up 60 then get up on the podium and say "We love our fans, the rest of you can go f^ck yourselves. Now let's party."
