All you are doing is arguing semantics. LOL!

This is ALL our opinions. Thats the entire point of a forum. Don't try to come off all superior and try to make your point with semantics.

It is my opinion that the Niners are more physical on D. It isn't something that can be measured. I don't think it's close. OF COURSE that's my opinion. It is also my opinion that this conversation has become silly and pointless.

    We'll see on Sunday.

If in fact the 9er's ARE more physical on D....I would think that the coaches would be aware of that...inform the offense of said fact and make the adjustment to compensate for the extra physicality....

All year I've watched the oppositions fan base come in and tell us how it's gonna be and as we have seen...10 out of 13 times...they were wrong...and even in the 3 losses...games that should have been won...the predictions made never came to fruition in the ways they were predicted.
Each week the gameplans changes..The pats just seem to draw up the right things to do and if they properly execute the plays of the gameplan..they usually win and win big. This game is no different. What San Fran has as a team more than alot of other teams is a higher ratio of plays being made. Our goal would be to lower that percentage of plays made on both sides of the ball...duh..lol....
I think this will be another one of those games where the Pats rise to the occasion on National TV and yes..open up that proverbial can of "Whoop Ass" on the 9er's making everyone take that step back and think. The Niners have a good team...but do I think that they will be winning in Foxboro?....NO....

Could be. I was never saying that said physicality would give the Niners the win. Was just making a point to another poster who was challenging the notion that the Niners were a physical team...which I thought was ludicrous. ;-)

The way I read what you just wrote was that you DON'T feel the Niners are a physical team?

LOL. I see what you are saying and who knows, you may be right.

I think you are underestimating the 49ers coaching staff tho. They are also adept at changing things up and customizing gameplans to the opponent. This game is gonna be a chess match.

We'll see what happens and I applaud yout confidense in your team, but I don't think it's gonna be as easy as you think. Peace.

No, I think they are the most physical team in the league. I'm saying that physicality alone won't win this game. I only had this conversation to begin with because another poster challenged the idea that the 49ers were physical.

I think the 49ers are a very physical team especially on defense and I think Harbaugh unlike Kubiak last week will have a few curve balls for the Pats. The biggest thing that worries me about their defense is the closing speed and the hits that come with it. Brady is going to have to be accurate over the middle and the receivers cannot let there be any tips because that's how the 49ers can win this game.

Incorrect once more. I can clearly state that Brady is the superior QB based on stats and experience. That is not an opinion. I love it when someone is incorrect and then says...Conversation is over. Sad. I will give the SF D this...their PA is very impressive. Borderline spectacular.

My guess is they will try to control the clock to:

#1) Keep the Pats O off the field
#2) Rest their D in case the Pats go hurry up.

Hence short passes and runs by Gore, James and CK. Conversely I would think Ne will try to make them on dimensional by forcing 3rd and longs and three and outs. Will be a great chess game and battle of wills. I don't know who the more physical team is but last week the Pats were definitely more physical than the Texans who bring it so I expect them to rise to the challenge this week as well.

I'm sorry...what exactly is it that I'm incorrect about? The Niners are more physical. There is no metric to prove that so its all going to be a matter of opinion.

You have stated that the Niners are NOT more physical and I think your opinion is wrong. Dead wrong.

I was ending the conversation because it was pointless...you are just going to talk about nothing endlessly. Its a pretty pathethic argument style.

You haven't said ANYTHING that would prove me "incorrect". Nothing.

Probably not too far off, but that's kinda the MO of the Niners in EVERY game.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Niners mixed it up and went for some deep shots...they need to score to have a chance.

Against the Bears with Kaep in his first start everyone thought the Niners would just run the hell out of the ball and play it safe. Instead they opened it up quite a bit early until the game was out of range of a Bear comeback.

Ya just never know with Harbaugh and Roman.

As I mentioned...physicality can be slowed down play wise....conditioning also plays a roll in physicality ..in so much how deep into the game you can keep it up. I solid test for both teams on both sides of the ball goin down this playoff stretch.
But keep in mind...it's Tom Brady.....Niners Fan growing up and has a point to make. If he's on...The real question will be will the Niners Offense be able to keep up? You guy catch a major Break with Gronk and Edelman Being out.....just 2 less weapons the Niners have to worry about....I think your Ace in the hole is Moss for he too has a point to make

I actually watched a lot of that Bears game. Cannot recall why either it was on Red Zone or regular TV? I do recall he lit them up. Valid pt (thats a FACT for example). The Niners will definitely bring the hammer and not having Gronk sux but the Pats have a variety of RBs who are very good pass catchers and who garner significant YAC. Chess game baby.

Well, physicality on defense really effects the routes WRs run and the QBs decision making.

However, I don't see Brady or Welker as players that will be shy about getting hit. That's why I've said before that physicality alone won't win the game.

Yeah, Tom may want to prove something, but I don't think it'll make a big difference. I expect him to play well. I expect the Pats to score alot more points than the 49ers typically allow. I agree that this comes down to Harbaugh/Roman Offense vs Belichik Defense. It'll be quite a chess match. I'd expect to see the 49ers run some things we haven't seen all year and I'd expect the same from Belichik to fool the young QB.

    Should be fun.

I think if the Niners are down 14 well it will be tough to come back, while the Pats conversely could come back easier based on their offense, etc. While SF has the best D the Pats have faced I am not sure if the SF O is the best O our D has faced this yr.

That one we can agree on...The Pats have surely faced better offenses than the Niners. All I would say is that the 49ers offense is unconventional with numerous formations, fronts, and plays. They have had success running the ball even against teams with good run defenses.

As peeps have said around here, the 49ers are kinda innovating in the run game. Traps, Whams, Draws, End Arounds, Reverses, Read Option, the Pistol...you name it. They LOVE TEs (that started at Stanford for Harbaugh). That HORRIFIC play that effectively lost them the game against the Rams is an example unfortunately of what CAN happen with some of those exotic play calls. SOmetimes they struggle and the plays just don't work. Sometimes they work spectacularly and the Niner completely dominate thier opponent.

You just never know which it'll be.

Hence why the Pats need to keep them in 3rd and 7 3rd and 8 situations to make them one dimensional.

BTW...whats the weather report look like out there?

Typically I'd give the team that runs the ball better the advantage in cold weather, but considering the Pats December record of late that may not be a factor.
