Just don't see him as a future franchise QB in the NFL. Neither do most teams considering he went in the 4th....and before you say "Brady in the 6th", Tom played for Michigan and won an Orange Bowl against Alabama. Nothing against the kid, personally would just prefer someone taller (6'3 or 6'4) who is legitimately mobile with a cannon arm - asking a lot maybe, but have to dream.
Why do you think Bill drafted him in the 4th when the team was in need of LB, DT, DE, OL, etc? Serious question.

I was debating creating a ZAP4 account here at Pats Fans just to troll the MAC(10) fans with biased takes and half truths but in the end I figured life it too short and one post mentioning it would do the job just as well.

Interesting, but a problem either way. We have to stop turning the ball over:

Somewhat deceiving tweet since one of the Zappe INTs was 100% on Agholor and there have been two strip sacks where the RT got beat clean and he never had a chance. Not sure if he’s including the botched exchange with Meyers in that turnover total, too, but that’s also not clear it’s 100% on Zappe.

Would make much more sense for the tweeter to do a granular breakdown of how those turnovers occurred - and break them down into INTs, fumbles, strip sacks.

unfortunately in today's world, whether it's football or anything else, people conduct analysis to prove their initial assumption.

Who do you want as our next coach: Steve B. , Matty P, Joe J., a college coach, a current offense or defensive coordinator? Let me see some names?
If Bill retires, Jerrod Mayo as HC with Matt Groh as GM. Young guys, great foundation.

Can we please stop with the failed coaches bullsh*t. Using the same logic McDaniels was a failed coach when we took him back after Denver. Lots of very good positional coaches and coordinators do not make great Head Coaches it doesn't mean they can never coach ever again. There is logic to the argument that perhaps they shouldn't be coaching offense but just last week all i read was praise for Judge and Patrica for the job that they had done with Zappe and now a week later the sky is falling in and they have ruined Mac even though the slide started happening before they were even here.

McDaniels was a good OC but a failed coach in Denver.

Patricia is a DC failed coach and Joe Judge is a special teams coach failed head coach. Both calling offense for the first time in their careers

There is no comparison

I think he gets credited with the fumble on the hand off to Meyers too.

We can pretty easily blame a few of Zaps on other players but to be fair we'd have to do the same to Mac and to be really fair we'd have to know for who was to blame for all of them. Otherwise I think we just take the lazy route and whatever the stats say is what they say.

2022 talent level is better than 2021. So what changed?

We went from a real OC in Josh McDaniels to two failed coaches in Patricia/Judge. Instead of bringing in a young fresh mind to coach offense bill instead brings in retreads who ruined their teams and were fired.

It's no way to build a coaching staff. Yes men who you don't have to pay because they are paid by the teams who fired them for being bad.
The defense is pretty much the same. The qbs wouldn't be under such pressure having to throw if the defense was better

The fact that they failed as head coaches and are now coaching offense are two completely separate issues. The jobs are completely different as demonstrated by McDaniels who is a good OC but so far has shown nothing to prove he is a good HC. Nearly every HC has had to have been a relative success as a positional coach to get the opportunity to be a HC in the first place. To then say if they don't succeed as a HC that they are now considered failures as coaches in all forms is ridiculous.

Hard even for BB homers to disagree. Replacing McDaniels with Patricia/Judge was a monumental act of arrogance and misguided loyalty by BB.

I am not a BB Homer and it is not hard for me to disagree either. The offensive play calling over the last few weeks has been good. What aspect the offensive play calling don't you like?

Because the team needed a better backup QB than Stidham and QB is the most important position.

The game was lost in the trenches. I am not sure why. Usually we stiffen up in the 2nd half but we didnt. The Chicago D line would bull rush collapsing the pocket and put their hands up. Not too complicated and it worked. We could not stop the run. Very very disappointing.

Let's hope the Pats learned something they can teach when preparing for Josh Allen.

My concern is replacing McDaniels with Patricia/Judge as offensive coaches period. As for the play calling, we haven't been playing the NFL elite over the last few weeks so it's hard to say how effective the play calling really is. Let's see how we roll against the better teams. Either way I'd prefer actual, specialist offensive coaches - not recycled Defensive/Special Teams rehires. However, if you're cool with Mat and Joe then that's fine.

Every coach is a new, rehire, or recycle before they become a specialist. Josh McDaniels was a redirected and rehired coach before being a specialist.

The play calling against Chicago was some of the most creative we have seen in years. Still do.not understand your beef.

If you listen to Bedard and others they have changed their tune. Now the play calling is OK but the plays for Zappe and Mac are different. Mac had a bad ankle so he didn't run play action. If Mac does more play action this week, what will the talking heads have to complain about next week?

My concern is taking a young QB out of the hands of an offensive specialist and into the hands of Patricia/Judge. Joe was a dumpster fire at NYG as was his QB Daniel Jones. What gives you belief that Judge is the man to nurture our next franchise QB. As for the Bears game, didn't we score a goose egg in the second half - what happened?

Look who's at the top in increased output: DET & NYG. Pats are going to have 9 less TDs than last season at this rate. LVR have increased their TD output.

This is all happening with now a 2nd year QB, better skilled players with more exp. on the team. Main difference? OC & QB coach. Coaching matters.
