Maybe so but honestly I haven’t seen that kind of response from a Boston crowd to an individual player before while they were on the team. I was/am pro-Zappe but I felt terribly for Mac regardless.
Same a -holes that boo-d Tom.

My point about pressure and adversity was more about this program and BB expects as opposed to idiot fans

Hoyer over Zappe was a dumb move

Mac over Zappe was a dumb move

I have little faith in the right decision being made, hope I'm proven wrong.
Dumb decision-making has been the STORY of the season!

1. Not hiring a proven OC to replace Josh Mcdaniels was a big mistake and a moment of sheer HUBRIS by BB!

2. Hiring a QB coach in Joe Judge who led his team to the 31st ranked offense and nearly ruined the career of a young QB in Daniel Jones was just doubling down on DUMB!

3. Not drafting any reinforcements to the linebackers or the DL when you gave up 124 rushing yards per game last season was a real headscratcher. Never mind that we also drafted an offensive GUARD in round 1 whom we could have taken in round 2 instead!

The weird part of this statement (while true) is that he is still performing better than 2019 Brady. Better comp %, on pace for more yards, much better td:int ratio, better rating, etc.

Revisionist historians still running with that phoney story when Brady had ZERO weapons in 2019 and a poorly performing offensive line. He was literally throwing to guys off the street. The worst tight end corps in the league, no good wide receivers. As Giselle once said, after a Patriots playoff loss, 'my husband can throw the football but he can't also catch it himself!'

Meanwhile Mac Jones was the beneficiary of a record 250 million dollar free agent spending spree in 2021!

Let's put the homer glasses away for a moment and acknowledge the truth - Mac Jones has played TERRIBLE in 2022.

A lot of the blame for that has to go on Mac Jones shoulders. But BB also put his young QB in the WORST possible position to succeed by not hiring a proven OC to replace Josh McDaniels. And the reasons? Two: 1 - Money. The Patriots don't pay the bill for Patricia or Joe Judge because of the 'creative titles' they've been given. 2 - Hubris. BB believed he could succeed without a true OC, unlike the rest of the league, because - I'll prove that I can. Oh boy was he dead WRONG!

Are we really pretending the 2021 team was stacked with talent because of how much they spent?

2022 team is not bad. I now have a feeling that QB coaching , O Line inconsistency and Linebacker speed/ linebacker 48 personnel selection is the issue.

Totally agree!

I don’t know if you know what you’re even complaining about. I said Zappe deserved another start. But it was embarrassing as a fan to see Jones humiliated out there. We are no better than Yankees fans booing their own players.

And it’s not revisionist history with Brady. Do you think he would have done better with the 2020 roster?

The point is it was clearly time to move on from him as the team kept punting their dead cap space to the point where they eventually needed the 2020 season to reset.

He was going to end up looking even worse in 2020 at 43 and fans would say he should hang it up. Similar to what they’re doing now that he’s finally not playing with a stacked offense.

I mean unless you think the Pats had a chance to pick up three 1k yard receivers, a HOF TE, and two RBs who can combine for nearly 2k yards for 2020?

Fact is, Brady would have been mediocre in 2020 but likely good enough to squeeze into the postseason to just hurt their draft standing

I think the issues are somewhere around 90% attributable to Bill and the coaches. Sad to say…we have decent enough talent to be a threat to make the playoffs but the coaching has dragged the players down.

Evidence?
This. Any evidence Zappe’s height is inflated besides one’s own hunch/gut feeling?

I’m 6ft I thought Bailey looked about 5ft 11 or 6ft to me.
It’s tough to say but Mac looks much taller than him.
That being said I’m happy for Zappe.

So Toolscribe's got nothing but lame memes. How shocking.

He was six feet and ? of an inch at the Senior Bowl, six feet and ½ of an inch at the combine, and six feet and ? of an inch at his pro day.

Then he joins the Patriots at 6-foot-1. Either he's still a growing boy or built up significant foot callouses from all that working out.

Let's just ignore Kraft's 4" pumps.

"Lame" memes? LAME?! Two things here, Mr. Feminine Hygiene Product: (1) those memes were duly researched and (2) you are very, very sensitive. (I'd say "easily triggered" but that's been beaten to death.)

Let's just ignore Kraft's 4" pumps.

Zappe has been a big surprise so far this season. He is very raw (for that matter, so was/is Mac. BB put Mac in an embarassing spot and may have made a permanent dent in his confidence.

If Mac is up to the job he will rise above BB's uncharacteristically monumental brainfart.
