But feel free to show me where I said “the patriots made the decision so that means it was good because they have never been wrong about anything”

It’s all available in your entire post history. Feel free to pursue it (I wouldn’t, but you’ll probably find it enlighteneing.)

I’ll take that as you are aware your comment was dishonest, inaccurate and ridiculous, since you admit you cannot back it up.

See you aren’t stupid, you are dishonest.

Sorry Ice, had to.

Good burn. I walked into that one.

This moronically ill-conceived thread must die ...

Cool...that’s the first time I’ve been called dishonest. How many people have said that about you?

None, ever. but then I don’t go around telling people they say things they didn’t and then bs my way through accepting responsibility for it.

Cmon, man. I've seen several instances where Andy has pointed out mistakes by the Patriots. They're rare, but they SHOULD be. Take a look at what they've done over the last 17 years.
That's not being a homer. That's being a realist.
Probably the greatest 17 year run in NFL history.(SB era- before that doesn't mean as much)
And your prior comment about Patriots poor decision-making over the last 3 or 4 years is one of the most ridiculous things I've seen here. 3 SBs in 4 years, with 2 Lombardis?
Yeah no other NFL franchise would wanna suffer through THAT.

Before I leave this thread, I’d like to revise my typo: my IQ is not 140. I accidentally added a 0.

But in all seriousness I apologize for coming across as arrogant, gloating, or boastful to anyone (besides Andy). I could honestly give a **** what someone’s IQ is, and I just felt the urge to defend myself in a very specific exchange; not my finest moment. I’ve found IQ to be one of the worst indicators of success or even in forming correct opinions; it’s not inverse, just random. It’s also a very imbalanced indicator of intelligence because it’s very linear; I am idiotic, and way below average, when it comes to many, many things.

I had blocked Andy for a long time and then un-blocked him after reading someone’s take about his advanced football knowledge. Clearly that was a mistake. He does get under my skin and annoys the crap out of me; I can’t help but respond even knowing it won’t end well and I’ll look just as foolish. Back to the block list and maybe I can one day regain my dignity here.

Well I’m glad I didn’t draw more attention to the comment or anything.

Peace all (including Andy). Love this board and would hate to offend or present myself as an @sshole who thinks he’s superior to everyone. I really wasn’t trying to go there but understand it’s a bad look.

The Dorsett trade suddenly looks a lot better given Britt's release

Brissett

2017: 4-12
2016: 1-1
In his and 1 in 2016 he got shut out by a Bills team Brady kicked the hell out of.

He’s developing into a pretty good back up. He was the third best QB on the team. Last year of those 4 QB’s Jacoby only won 4 games, Garrapolo won 5 with only 5 tries on a team that was bottom of the league, and Brady went 13-3 and advanced to the Super Bowl.

This is following up on a season where Brady went 11-1 and won the Super Bowl, Jimmy went 2-0 (Jacoby almost blew the Dolphins game when he came in) and Brissett went 1-1.

People really want to cry about this?

How so? You think he was getting cut or what? Dorsett might give u a catch here and there but he looks lost.

At the end of the day we're ALL Patriots fans here, even mosslost.(I think)(jk)
I personally don't hold grudges against anyone. Life's too damn short.
A lot of what is posted comes from people's passion for the team and sometimes it can temporarily cloud judgement(ala the game day threads).
I respect that even people I'm disagreeing with get a lot of joy watching this franchise. ( tho they are clearly wrong and dirty mfers)Why else would any of us be here?

That's not being a homer. That's being a realist.

Every team, including the Patriots, makes a ****load of mistakes every year, though one should theoretically be able to find a truly exceptional season now and again. THAT'S being a realist.

It didn't come off as arrogant to me rather somewhat submissive or an admission of your inferiority on this forum. Because as you know the collective IQ of those here is at least 200.

Mine is a measly 141.73 but at least it's higher than yours so I feel better. JK

Yeah Andy's football knowledge is some of the best here and I enjoy reading his inputs but his argumentative style is annoying as hell.

Fwiw, he didn't call you stupid but he skirts the fringe with the implications of you being stupid, a moron or whatever else as closely as possible to leave enough room to break out his classic " but I didn't call you stupid......you must be dishonest " type stuff.

Either that or he'll hit you up with a Bubba joke but personally I think he only does that when he knows he's wrong which he was in my case.

My advice is simply don't reply. Tough to do. I know. Haha. But he does post some good stuff football wise. Imo

Well, of course the Patriots have made mistakes, especially drafting in the 2nd round. They've obviously had some draft picks with well-known injury histories that backfired- oth, they've had some that were incredible hits like Gronk.
But Deus, you're being just a bit disingenuous here. The success of this BB/TB 17+ yrs run is unprecedented and truly remarkable in the salary-cap era. That's what puts it ahead of the awesome SF 9ers run.
The only team that's been remotely close to NE in that timeframe is Pitts- and it's not that close. Every other SB team from the 2001 Rams to 2017 eagles has had bad years and mediocre years. Even Seattle, on the " verge" of a dynasty, didn't last long.
To be consistently good-to-great for 17 straight years is incredible.
And tho BB has made his share of mistakes, they've been far fewer than anyone else.
And that includes both the JG and JB trades, NEITHER of which was a mistake.

Yeah, yeah we all talk about the Garoppolo deal, but how did we lose so poorly on the Brissett deal? Based on reports of the Seahawks offering a 2nd rder for the kid, and the Colts turning it down, makes me think that trading Brissett for Phillip freaking Dorsett is one of the worst trades that we have ever done.

Stupid teams do stupid things. The Colts have been run by idiots for a long time. And Seattle doesn't seem much brighter these days. Jacoby is a mediocre QB in a time when it is easier to play QB at any point in the history of the NFL.

I've been a patriots fan to long, I guess. I do NOT believe that not winning the SB means that the season is over.

I am not sure why you disagreed with my point. If Brady suffers a career ender then the season (as in SB title) is most probably not realistic.

But at the same time I honestly believe that -- unless we face a murders row -- the staff and Hoyer could make it through 2-4 weeks without throwing a chance at the playoffs (which going 2-2 would accomplish).

You disagree with that?
