It's easy, and only takes a few moments.Do you guys think he'll re-sign for something like 3-4 years at 5m a piece? I'm kind of nervous offering him too much money because this is the first time Edelman's been healthy for a full season.
I think something in that range, although I could see it going $1M/yr either way (e.g., as little as $4M, as much as $6M).
Pats can deal with that.
thing is. Would someone like Emmanuel Sanders interest them more. I presume he's looking at about 5 per aswell.
The reason Edelman is interesting is that he has proven chemistry with brady and knowledge of our system.
Sanders doesn't have that. Why bring in another small receiver that doesn't know our system when you can just roll with Boyce and Amendola?
If teams didn't go more than $5.5m for Welker, they aren't going for more than $4.5m for Edelman. Edelman may seem not as stout to other teams, and he hasn't proven himself.
What he has going for him: youth.
Wild card: he is a fantastic punt returner. Some teams might see a premium there for a roster spot, and decide he's worth $700k than they would otherwise give him on that basis alone.
So, I'll say he gets 3 years at $3.5m to $5.2m.
If we pay him, I'm hesitant about his PR duties

He had youth, durability, and 5 years production at the slot WR position. Offering Edelman anything above this is foolish.
At least of a couple of teams are likely to do that. Heck, I would do that if I were the DEN, replacing Welker (in his last year) with Edelman on a long-term deal.
