Whatever Happened to John Jastremski and Jim McNally?

People have said that Brady and/or the Patriots bought McNally and Jastremski off to keep them quiet. The problem with that thinking is there is no contract or guarantee when you buy someone's silence. One or both of them could decide "Brady has paid me $X. TMZ is offering me $Y. I would be better off with $X + $Y." That hasn't happened, which, as you pointed out, is telling.
You can create a contract between 2 parties guaranteeing silence. I am not saying this happened, but 2 parties can draft a contract in private exchanging money for silence (i.e. "non-disclosure").

Re Brady.
Even if what you say is true (there is nothing "easy" about a defamation suit by a public figure) , there is nothing in his background, demeanor or reported personality that would suggest that that is how he would go. Everything that we can know about him suggests that, for him, revenge is on the Field.
I've become more and more convinced that Brady won't file a suit. It's just not in his nature to seek revenge. Really the only reason I want to see SOMEONE file a defamation suit is to put on the record the liars and malicious people to brought this one. Even without any legal discovery look at how much they have found out. Think about how much more would come out if legal discovery was required.

THAT would be the benefit of a defamation suit, after that I could care less who wins. Just filing would get the truth out there in the light of day. The only effect winning wouild be is to fund all of Tom's favorite charities for the next 100 years.

That's what I would like more than anything, and that's why I desperately want the Dorito Dinks to sue. Put the NFL MFers on the stand to answer some questions. Plus they don't have the drawback of the CBA limiting they ability to file suit.

Yup! Nothin more satisfying and getting truth out than owners* puppet goodell* under oath fessing up to their Witch Hunt and having to pay BIG time by clearing Brady's name and $.

Still holding out hope for a defamation suit? LOL. It's like we moved back in time a full 2 years.

Yep. It happens every day in many different settings.

Are they in the witness protection program?

They were suspended and then reinstated by the patriots.

I suppose they must have a gag order?
Do you ever wonder why no defamation suit, article or books?
Its really amazing that nothing has come out from either of them since this whole thing started.
I am assuming they are both totally innocent of wrongdoing.....but their names have been dragged through the mud...I would think some attorney out there would have convinced them to sue the NFL for millions.
I assume you have run into trolls with "why aren't they employed" crap.
I forget which one I'm quoting, but "Jimmy expects new kicks." (Probably a misquote - but I'm going off memory. It was like that.)

In other words, to my job I expect you to embezzle new shoes for me. Yes, one was stealing equipment, I assume shoes are more expensive than pens, to entice an employee to do their job.

Even if you take the missing equipment in stride, neither were doing extremely good work, either in inspiring, not bribing, people to do their job or the one who needs to be bribed to do his job.

If they were given golden parachutes (unknown) it may be because Kraft is paying him a thank you for having his name dragged through the mud. Possibly as a "don't sue me" for the Well's report in context.

Of course that is as much conjecture as whatever your trolls say.

One of them morphed into the Yeti.

I always thought a more significant person in this whole crazy situation was Garrapolo, Hoyer etc. have heard Zolak several times discuss is responsibility for getting the balls ready for every game on the day before.. no one ever pursued that angle.

Here's the only angle the NFL/Wells should have pursued but didn't. If there was a "scheme" to deflate balls at home games then Dorito Dink would duck into that bathroom every home game. Since they have tape of him going in there in the AFCCG then there should be 9 more tapes of him throughout the season popping into the bathroom for 90 seconds with the balls before heading out the field. I'm sure the Pats don't destroy security cam footage right after the game is over. It should be pretty easy (if not time consuming) to exonerate Brady and Dink.

This is all moot, of course since, we all know, nothing happened.

I hope we've banned this dope

I guess this will be the Tomase moment to drop saturday night before the game. Jaz is found teaching golf in Mexico and hanging out at a gym and going out of his way to introduce himself to media personnel.
Which reminds me, another in the seemingly endless barrage of falsehoods reported by every media outlet on the planet was that these guys were suspended without pay. The opposite is true.

You must first understand that facts, truth and reality have absolutely nothing to do with the real perpetrators' (NFL,BSPN,Media) agenda and accusations. Their target is, as always, the Patriots, and discrediting the HOF QB is most effective.

It's almost as if the league had told the media to make a big deal about it when the Patriots were involved and then told them to downplay things when the same circumstances applied to the Steelers.
almost?

I wouldn't be surprised if Kraft (and every other NFL owner) puts a "Employee agrees not to sue the NFL or the Member Club except in circumstances where federal or state law make said agreement unenforceable" clause in the employment agreement or contract for every non-CBA position.

It's not such a bad question, is it?

It's painfully obvious by now, after all these years, that Kraft's modus operandi is:

Keep everything and everyone quiet, acquiesce to the NFL at all times, for the good of the 32 while his own team, as always, takes the hit.

OK, and voice disapproval when your prized player is likewise dragged through the mud, but still do nothing at all to alter your actions.

"Ban the dope"

Tell me one thing I have said in this thread that has violated any rules?

I have been nothing but respectful and made the cardinal sin of asking a legitimate question that for some reason you personally don't like

I am in my late 50's and have followed this team since the time they played at Nickerson field and Fenway park. I am a passionate patriots supporter. I have been reading this website for years, but last week I decided to join. I have followed very detail of the patriots for the past 45 years and know every detail about deflate gate inside and out.
I asked the question because I thought some on this board might being able to provide some insight.

You naturally assume I am a "troll"...you could not be more wrong.

I find it interesting that with your ninth post here, you will start a thread to talk about these two.

I did not know that if its my ninth post it disqualifies me from asking a question.
No doubt you have to be on guard for trolls. This is not trolling.
