He's a QB & already squashed any notion of turning WR.
I really dont understand the narrative that he has to change positions?
He has some tinkering with mechanics and decision making. Has to add weight but he's so talented. He wants to be a pocket passer first.
Reminds me of Mariota in the pocket and obviously Vick when he takes off.
He's only 20. I'd love to see him develop for 3-4 years behind Tom, Josh, Bill etc.
He may WANT to be a pocket passer first, but he hasn't shown that in the least throughout his college career. He makes one read then takes off. I have yet to see him advance through his progressions.
I've watched him quite a bit to know he absolutely goes through his reads (more than most) & isnt a one & run guy. He can do it.
Just a few examples.
He def wants to be a passer first.
His games against LSU and Houston were especially bad. His footwork also needs a lot of work.
His mechanics & footwork absolutely need work.
I just don't see it. I see him as being yet another mobile, run-first quarterback with a big arm that will make mistakes if forced to stay in the pocket.
I don't see him as a fit for the Erhardt-Perkins.
He's not the proto type here but he's only 20. Very similar scheme to 49ers w/ Kap add in some Yankee concepts, high/low.
He def needs work and I wouldn't take him thinking 2018-19.
He also has a drop rate of almost 9 from his skill weapons.
Few other things that are impressive is he doesn't ever take big hits. Great job at avoiding them. Also pretty functional throwing on the run.
Again I see a Mariota in the pocket w/ Vick legs.
Def not a typical Bill/Patriot type pick.
this is such a depressing topic for me.......and my mental health can be precarious
we had the next guy......and now he is gone
someone please tell me i'm gonna be ok......tell me i'm a good guy
On the flip side, you can see the talent: generally good ball placement (either that or he's not even in the same neighborhood; weird extremes), incredible arm strength, and enough mobility to duck out of trouble. While I personally prefer someone with quick processing and a fast release (like Jimmy GQ), I can understand why Allen generates a lot of interest, despite his mediocre numbers and strange offense.
Some of these throws are incredible. He's not my first choice, but there's no denying that he has something to work with, at least:
Brown's X 2, Giants, Broncos, Jets are all in lottery & need QB'S. Not to mention Bills with a bunch of picks and others that want a QB.
John Edward Thomas Moynahan, should be ready for the 2027 Draft, when his dad is ready to retire.
All joking aside, I like the kid from Wyoming, Josh Allen. Didn’t have as good a year this year as last (lost a lot of targets including Jacob Hollister), but I like the way he plays. Big strong kid. Also, I could see them drafting someone else who is similar to Garappolo, smart with a quick release. Not sure if there is a similar QB available.
I do not have a specific name to add.
Someone young and mold-able since he will need to wait a few years.
The Saints appear to be anointing Taysom Hill as successor to Brees, but I don't think Phillip Rivers has a legitimate understudy yet.
Is that like athletic processing? And Kirk Cousins has some of the worst mental processing at the position.
But we couldn't keep him unless the GOAT leaves earlier than expected. I know you know this but I don't know why it continues to be brought up. It would have cost about $50M to Franchise him the next two years to see if Brady calls it quits then.we had the next guy......and now he is gone
someone please tell me i'm gonna be ok......tell me i'm a good guy
