KC is gonna lose this game. Smith has not thrown a pick all season. No way that keeps up. He will throw 1 or maybe 2 this game and that will turn it decisively for Oakland I think.
You are right in this sense, KC IS going to lose this game.
I watched for about 3 minutes before I turned it off. First I saw a replay of the 2nd TD and the WR uses an obvious 2 hand push off that knocks the defender down before catching the ball. It was the MOST obvious OPI I have ever seen. No flag was thrown. Then a few plays later I see a phantom illegal contact wipe out a TO by KC. All contact was within 5 yards, not even close to an IC.
There was a discussion on a PFT post about the Refs Association complaining about team's complaining about their calls. I voiced an opinion that I thought the refs were right. But I was wrong.
You can make a great case that the league is out to CREATE new faces of the league. Derek Carr and Cam Newton specifically. Think about it. Cam starts out slow until he gets to NE, then suddenly the Panthers get only one call against them, while the Pats have to deal with SEVERAL really sketchy calls at critical moments that cede the game to Carolina. Same thing in Philly, even though the Eagles won the game, the refs did their best to keep Carolin in the game.
And now tonight. The Raiders lose this game and Carr's supposed coming out season would be circling the drain. Can't have THAT happen to one of the new faces of the league. So I watch 3 minutes and see 2 incomprehensibly bad calls, and that's it for me. I already know how this game is going to go. The refs have already gifted the LV Raiders 10 points....and its only minutes into the 2nd quarter.
I'm just about done. I'm hanging on by a thread and only because of a decades-old love affair with laundry. Over the last few seasons, the league hasn't had much parity. Clearly, Goodell has demanded it happen this season. KC has a double whammy to overcome tonight, they were playing one of Goodell's golden boys, and their current record is too good.
