That’s interesting. The ESPN playoff machine says the Texans get the 2 seed in that scenario...
Yeah, well... I dunno. I'm seeing a few other articles that also say the Ravens can still be #2 in that scenario. On the other hand ESPN's integrity can never be questioned.

edit: I just tried their playoff machine with that scenario (Ravens, Texans, Pats and one of Colts/Titans all finish 10-6), and it now has the Ravens as the #2, Texans #6.

Maybe they hadn't put all the week 16 results in yet?

They definitely fixed it...probably something wrong with their algorithm.

I think I'd rather face the Texans in the divisional rather than San Diego or Baltimore. If we host the AFCCG, the loss in Miami may turn out to be a blessing in disguise.
Hmmm. BALs D is really good.

Most Desirable: Chargers (Good O. OK D)
Kinda Desirable: BAL (suspect O. Very good D)
Least Desirable: HOU (Good offense, tough run D)

Hou & B-More- Inexperienced QB's playing in Foxboro for playoffs;
Chargers- Long history of f*cking up when it matters most.

I like our chances.

Re: Brady injury speculation, given this example from the current NFL operations manual, NE *would* have to report a knee injury to Brady even he’s taking all reps in practice.

The mute button will have to be used next week:

On the bright side that means there's a good chance that'll be the main early game on CBS vs the Texans/Jaguars game. Dolphins/Bills will obviously be regional only.

Any chance we can go back to calling them the "Jest?" It was perfect. This "Jete" thing really isn't working for me.

who are these clueless idiots Matt Chatham keeps responding to. Matt Chatham should know better than to respond to them.

Dion Lewis, 2017 = 1110 yds/scrimmage .. 9 TDs .. 212 touches

Michel, 2018 = 931 yds/scrimmage .. 6 TDs .. 202 touches
White, 2018 = 1107 yds/scrimmage .. 11 TDs .. 173 touches

The Pats' ground game in recent seasons:

2018 = 1906 yds .. 18 TDs .. 4.3 ypc (one game to play)
2017 = 1889 yds .. 16 TDs .. 4.2 ypc
2016 = 1872 yds .. 19 TDs .. 3.9 ypc
2015 = 1404 yds .. 14 TDs .. 3.7 ypc
2014 = 1727 yds .. 13 TDs .. 3.9 ypc
2013 = 2065 yds .. 19 TDs .. 4.4 ypc
2012 = 2184 yds .. 25 TDs .. 4.2 ypc

I think the Patriots should Extend C. Patterson. What a difference a year made he being on the Pats.

It is what it is. A former Jets player stupidly coined "Jete" on the national stage, we had nothing to do with it. But you can still call them Jest if you want.

I've found that I don't have to mute the sound completely. I can put the boob tube on just the right volume level (5 or 6) and I can't hear what the announcers are saying but I can still hear the refs and the crowd noise.

I didn't realize it was mathematically impossible to get the #1 seed...

Does somebody own a tie-breaker over us if the Chiefs/Chargers both lose? Confused too.

OTOH, while possible, it doesn't seem probable.

The term Jete was coined by @Tunescribe and is French for "I put my face in your butt and drop zee futbol on zee ground for you to get zee touchdown."

To get it right... it had nothing to do w Tunescribe, although he might/might not have been the one who first lobbied for the shift from "JEST" to "JETE" on this Board.

JETE traces back to a moment at the NFL draft where they brought back a JETE alum (Tony Richardson) to announce the pick, and he decided to get his fans to love him by saying "J-E-T-S" in his few words leading up to it. Except of course, he butt-fumbled his little pep rally line and it became "JETE," a term previously most associated with the world of ballet.
