It's easy, and only takes a few moments.i don't disagree and we will have to see how it plays outConsidering the Dolphins finished 2021 with one less win than the Patriots, if they aren't very good, neither are we. I also believe they did more to improve their team going into this season than the Patriots did. The net result, to me, is the Dolphins just being a straight up better team than us in 2022.
thing to consider how kyle shanahan offenses have given us fits in the past. When jimmy G came to foxboro and carved us up. McDaniel scheme is the one which will be a challenge for us.One thing that drive me a bit nuts about this game and Miami in general is that the spin from the people bashing the Pats is that the Dolphins have owned the Pats the last two years without addressing how Brian Flores and his knowledge of the Patriots played into it. The spin is Tua owns the Pats now, but did he.
He was the lesser QB in game one last year. He was 16 for 27 for 202 yards, 1 TD, and 1 INT that game. Downright mediocre.
Even in the second game, he was 15 for 22 for 109 yards and a TD (with 38 yards on the ground). The Dolphins defense had as many TDs as the Dolphins offense in that game (two each).
Even the second game that they won in 2020, Tua only had 20 for 26 for 145 yards and one INT passing. He did have 9 yards and two TDs rushing, but those were drives at the end of the game when the Patriots defense looked completely gassed and slow (even for them).
I just wonder if they have the advantage anymore without Flores. Granted, if the Pats play like they played this preseason, it won't matter. But I think people are sleeping on the loss of Flores with Miami's advantage over the Pats.
Agree, it's something worth monitoring leading up to Miami. If he's not ready to go, do you plug Cajuste in there who isn't 100% or Herron who was like a turnstile during camp or move Onwenu to RT and slide Hines in at RG. I know which one I'd choose.Wynn never healthy
Also something to monitor over the next week, Wynn was limited at practice yesterday...I wonder if they consider moving Onwenu to RT and Hines to RG. As I mentioned a few times, I've heard nothing but glowing reports on Hines as not only he was the best rookie O-lineman, but also the best blocking O-lineman in camp. We'll see as it's been a short camp for him:
The funny thing is, we don't know what offers the Pats got for Wynn. We might have been hesitant to trade him seeing how bad Herron was this summer and Cajuste fell off and is now nicked up. The fact is when healthy, he's a better player than the other two and a decent OT. The issue is his motivation and his health. One would think in his contract year, he'd be very motivated for a big payday next year. I know I would be. I'd think of all the shoes and purses I could get, all the trips I could take. Wynn, not so sure.Funny how overrated Wynn is on the Patriots' but the rest of the league avoided him like the plague. Nobody wanted him or his contract must feel like a kick in the gut for the homers.
We'll see. IMHO it primarily depends on how healthy he can be. Clearly this year is the "put up or shut up" year for him.Tua's accuracy is fine. Career 66.2% passer. 67.8% last year. And this year he's now got Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Cedrick Wilson, and Mike Gesecki to throw to, and all of them are either good or REALLY frigging good.
Tua should put up pretty good numbers this year.
You know that because?Funny how overrated Wynn is on the Patriots' but the rest of the league avoided him like the plague. Nobody wanted him or his contract must feel like a kick in the gut for the homers.
Going down with the ship in a weekTua was voted captain for the LOLphins
If I was coach I'd put Onwenu at RT and Ferentz at RG if Wynn and Cajuste can't play. Herron should only be at LT.Agree, it's something worth monitoring leading up to Miami. Shhhhhh!!! don't jinx him.I doubt Wynn will miss the game. There’s a thousand reasons he could have missed practice. No reason to assume the worst. For a veteran, it could easily be precautionary - it’s only important that he’s ready to play in a week and a half…
I am very nervous about Ferentz at RG, would rather see Hines there who's more powerful and a better run blocker. There's not as much tape on him, but I would try that. I am tired of seeing Herron at RT getting beat every other snap.If I was coach I'd put Onwenu at RT and Ferentz at RG if Wynn and Cajuste can't play. Herron should only be at LT.
