We are on to Dallas

At this point, how could it?

All we can do is hope it comes together by season's end or at least they can settle on something that works well enough to not be a burden on the defense.
Not sure what you mean? Don't other teams already know what they have after 10 games and the end of November? Does BAL already know their team's O character? Do the Saints, 49ers, Colts, etc.

Or is it only NE that takes 16 games to develop their O ready for the playoffs. Clearly this O has been a work in progress given Brady has passed to 17 different receivers in 10 games (whats the record?). There is no consistency, in fact it's been trending in the wrong direction. So yea, to me, it doesn't pass the eye test. I do agree we can hope.

What I'm saying is if they lose tomorrow there is a good chance they don't get HFA and given the struggles at O, they won't make it past the CG......
.

Whoa!!! Reading that sentence - - I had to check my calendar again to make sure this is November 2019 and NOT November 2018........

.

Careful with that 'D'.

Welcome. Nice first post. I see you joined this past Sunday evening.

The "D" you refer to wouldn't be Dallas, would it?
.

An attempt at the reverse jinx by referencing someone who was so certain of his incorrect opinion about NE’s playoff chances that he spent all his time condescendingly mocking anyone who disagreed with his incorrect opinion, only to hilariously fall flat on his face. Well played.
True, except for I'm not mocking anyone. I hope I'm wrong. If I'm wrong I'll admit it (like he did). This is if the Girls win tomorrow.

Have you NOT been watching the past two decades????

Each year BB shows clearly that the season is an evolution. The difference between the Patriots and everyone else (cue the graphs and tables showing exactly what an outlier the Patriots are the past 20 years) is that the other franchsises think like you do - - tunnel vision "we do what we do" - - and do not make in-season adjustments very well.

The Patriots modus operandi is to RELY on making adjustments as the season progresses. Doesn't work all the time. But their success rate in that NON-system is unmatched.

It's no mystery. Hell, that MBA Lavin guy wrote all about back in the mid-oughts in his Management Secrets of the New England Patriots book!

New England's advantage is that each week they KNOW the system they are facing on the other side of the field. The other team doesn't.

The fact that you are already writing the map for the Patriots............there IS no map.

If it wasn't clear, I just said the same thing. And I said it shouldn't pass anyone's eye test.

Perhaps, but we saw just last year how NE will take a full season to settle on an offensive approach, so the idea that they are still finding themselves isn't controversial. To the contrary, given the turnover at WR, and the injuries at TE/OL/FB it shouldn't surprise that NE would still be searching for an identity even if last year hadn't happened.

He also talked alot about "winning".

Don't let Pagano ruin a concept for you. If it were that easy.........

.
Can't help it, every time I hear the word 'grit' the image of Pagano crying comes to mind. I can't help but laugh.

Lots of jet sweeps tomorrow. LOTS.

I do realize this, but after tomorrow, its December, so hardly the early or middle of the season. Plus, this season has been unusual with all the comings and goings at WR, FB injuries, no depth at TE, lack of running game, etc.

Patriots will easily win last 3 games, so at the very least they'll have 12 wins. Probably win at least 1 or 2 out of next 3 games, so they could have between 13 and 14 wins, which is excellent. I'm just concerned that with 3 losses they lose HFA and don't make it past CG (I know they did it last year).

I get everything you're saying (historically), just not feeling warm and fuzzy about it, if they lose tomorrow.

Thankfully, what I think or how I feel is irrelevant to the outcome.

You're coming around - - you have an open mind.

This book is almost 15 years old - - but it encapsulates all that is still relevant. To me the amazing thing is the rest of the NFL KNOWS THE DYNAMIC why the Patriots are the outliers. They KNOW exactly what each and every team SHOULD be doing to blunt the Patriots' organizational advantage. They simply don't do it, going on two decades!!!!! The central mystery is WHY?????

I honestly do not know for sure. My uncertified guess, is that the other organizations find it too "uncomfortable" on a lifestyle/emotional basis to operate as the Patriots do. It is EASIER to rely on "stars" at the diva positions, to feed and accommodate their egos and to feed the base emotions of their paying customers in the stands and on the messageboards. Hence, during a regular season, being a fan of the Cowboys or Chiefs or Steelers or Pagano's Colts FELT better to a fan, not to mention their players. Like a child given candy, the sugar high is temporary and not long-lasting. The Pats are the weird family doing yoga (or TB12) and feeding their children celery sticks while making them run up that practice field hill over and over agan so that they can tire out an opposing D in the 4th quarter of an AFCCG or SB.

There is really so much there, it doesn't really fit in a messageboard post. But,seriouslu, if you want to get to the central core of the dynamic, read the Lavin book. It's nothing you and I don't already know, but it puts everything in one package. The mystery once again, is why the rest of the league still wants to speak a different language and just waits for Belichick to retire without doing the hard work themselves and adopting the overall modus operandi. Belichick biggest FU to the league, therefore, is his welching on the years ago comment about not ever being Marv Levy and getting out well before he turns 70. He's gonna be here awhile (yes, after Brady) and will be laughing all the while.

FYI- NFL "expert" picks

PFT- both pick Pats
MMQB- 5 of 6 Pats
ESPN- 10 of 10 Pats
CBS- 4 of 8 Pats ATS

Every season is different. 2010 Pats had an identify as an offensive dynamo particularly in the second half of the season yet they laid an egg against the Jets. 2018 Pats struggled much of the year offensively yet played virtually flawless against a very good Chargers team and the game was over in the first half. I certainly have concerns about this offense but would also not be surprised if they figure things out come playoff time. Main regular season goal is to just win games and get the bye.

As much as people love to crap on Jerry GMing his own team, it’s difficult to find a team that has drafted better than them past few seasons. Tons of great home grown talent.

Sadly for them, Jerry prefers a glorified cheerleader to a real coach. Really talented tough team. If they had a great coach, they’d be in the mix to be in the big game every year.
