We’re onto the JETES

This is one of those weeks where the Patriots can't win either way with the media and some fans. If they win 77-0 well it's the Jets so it proved nothing. If they struggle even a little the demise is full steam ahead.

Things I'd like to see.

1. It's a divisional road game and weird things happen to all teams in those games no matter how favored they are. The Pats are a -9.5 favorite. I think that's about right and I'd like to see them win by 10 or more. They need a convincing road win. The Bills would have qualified if not for the red zone.

2. The Jets need to run the ball to have any shot. I expect the Pats will take this away. The Pats need to have them averaging under 4/YPC.

3. While accomplishing #2 they can't let the receivers run wide open across the middle.

4. Brady needs 2+ seconds to pass on a consistent basis.

5. Less predictability by formation, especially in the red zone. I'm sure many of you are calling out run/pass before the snap. Kind of a 5A but better red zone efficiency.

6. Please start kicking the ball out of the EZ on kick offs. With the new rules the upside isn't what it was and we saw the downside to start the Titans game.

7. Gordon and Brady still don't look to be on the same page. I'm hoping to see more synergy every week.

8. Gronk usage, he doesn't need to be seeing every snap down the stretch. Use the DA treatment and keep him as fresh as you can. Maybe you can't to that @Miami/Pitt because you need that bye but the Jets and Bills they should. The Vikings it depends on what type of game it is.

9. Michel in the passing game. He's still not doing all the little things White does. I hope he keeps growing because passing with him in the game will be key come playoff time to open things up with play action.

10. If Brady doesn't trust Hogan any longer get Dorsett in the game. Dorsett has more impact per play since Gordon came on board.

I don't know why people keep suggesting this. The average of touchbacks in the league is somewhere in the low 60s. There is no kicker that will be able to consistently make all of the kickoffs into touchbacks especially with the cold part of the season starting now. Work through the issues as long as you can afford to instead of throwing in the towel.

And, no, some issues you have to play through on game day. It is one thing to sit through ST practice sessions and go through mistakes on paper but with the limit on contact and everything there is not much you can really do during practice to simulate real game situations in that aspect.

Keep an eye how often the team will use him in pass protection. The time is slowly running out on it this season but this would make for a big change and make his presence on the field less of a give away. That is almost more important than his performance out in patterns as receiving option.

Burkhead injured during the bye?

I agree for Michel the blocking is just as important.

Gostkowski is 25th in TB% and he's got a more powerful leg than a lot of the guys higher on the list. So this is a conscientious choice by the coaching staff. I agree nobody can do 100% and that the weather will affect those numbers around the league. I still disagree on the value.

IF we waste that IR-DTR on BrittleRex like we did last year I want BB tarred and feathered.

He has already been designated. If he is going to be activated, Thursday is the deadline. He could first play against the Vikings. Let hope it's not another Shea McClellin situation.

That was the point of my Post originally also Malcolm Mitchell last year.

There was a practice for Dawson a week or two ago where he missed attendance and for half the day I wondered if he might not make it back. Turned out he was at practice hopefully the same for Rex.

I don't know what this means. Hopefully something good.

Da Burkmeister sequel? That’s it guys. We have to win it all for Da Burkmeister’s son!
