-Then other CP faithful ask me questions about the team.

And I am tired of setting up the burner emails now that they all require Multi-Factor to set them up.

He had already decided to retire before reversing course and signing with the Pats, hadn't he? I believe that's the explanation he gave when he was suspended, anyway.

Kind of shocked by this. I believe he's more capable of helping this year's offense than LaCosse or Izzo but I'm not getting paid to make those calls.

I think Izzo has been pleasantly surprising for what he is (not a TE1, if you want your TEs to be good). Lacosse, though, yeah, I dunno if there's anything he does that Watson wouldn't have been an improvement on.

Unfortunately I don't have it in me to be a "sleeper cell". Not patient enough. But I enjoy just reading their sites without posting just as much especially after a play off loss.

To be serious for a moment, this flies in the face of the theory that BB treats veterans that join the Pats with the utmost respect vis a vis cuts and signings so that word spreads and other FAs are more likely to sign here.

Bill Belichick offered a simple explanation for the New England Patriots’ decision Monday to release veteran tight end Ben Watson. “We just don’t have a roster spot,” Belichick said during an interview with WEEI’s “Ordway, Merloni & Fauria” shortly after the team opted not to activate Watson, making him a free agent.

Asked whether the financial implications of cutting Watson — the move freed up roughly $2 million in salary cap space — played into the decision, Belichick replied: “We only have so many roster spots, so if we put somebody on, we have to take somebody off. And right now, there just wasn’t a roster spot.”

“We just didn’t feel like there was somebody we could create a roster spot with,” the coach said. “Everybody came out of (Sunday’s) game healthy. We have a decent team, so we felt like that’s where we’re at.”
