Well, QBs have magic powers. The very good ones do.
You know what is silly ? Hiding behind the generic cliché that 'this is a team game'. Of course it is. But then again, you have 32 teams with all the same number of players, spending roughly the same on player salaries, and most times than not, teams without a very good QB don't amount to anything. There are exceptions, like the 2000 Ravens, but they needed an historically good defense to offset their bad to mediocre QB play that season.
I thought Pats fans would know that by now, but I guess not. Belichick record with and without Brady is not proof enough I guess. Belichick is a coaching genius, but without an elite QB, he managed 1 playoff win over 10 seasons. As great a strategist Belichick is, he couldn't do anything special without elite QB play, and that 10 year period make him look more like Marty Schottenheimer than the greatest coach in NFL history.
What is even more silly, is that while you can't appreciate the value of having an elite QB, you sure hated Mac Jones for his shortcomings. You even pinned the playoff loss on him, even though scoring TDs on all their possessions wouldn't have been enough to win that game....team game, right?
