If someone makes Gost the highest paid kicker could that be a possible 3 3rd round comp picks?

They’d have to pay him over 10m I imagine.

Glad both got plucked up. If we were gonna lose ‘em, I’d rather lose ‘em quick. End the pains and just rip that damn band-aid off. Now we can all move on.

Not gonna lie though. I will be pouring out some liquor. Both guys were not only very good for us, but very easy to like.

On a side note. If I’m a player out there trying to prove that I deserve a big contract, the only place I want to sign is with New England.

No.. 5M isn't going to net us a 3rd round comp.. that's a 5th or 6th round comp..

I'd rather have Trey Flowers than a 3rd round pick to be honest.
Given those options, I would too, but if we were not going to match 5/85 for him, I'll take a third rounder over no compensation at all

How do we know this without knowing who the Pats will sign as a potential offset in the comp formula?

I'd rather have cap room and the 3rd rd pick and keep making superbowls

Whatever they are doing over there, its working,

Well--we went from 2004 to 2014 without winning Super Bowls using this methodology. Then we drafted guys like Trey Flowers, and we won 3 Super Bowls... so, yes, the method works, but not all the time. Sometimes you need Trey Flowers.

Trey Flowers:
NFL Draft: 2015 / Round: 4 / Pick: 101

No telling what the 3rd will bring, but jus' sayin'...........

Yeah, because lousy mis-management gave us the 2007 team..........

.

just as long as you admit it's all bad and everything is horrible going forward, you'll feel just fine here...

Nothing that happened today feels good. But that's not what Bill is about.

As I said, ahem, the methodology works. But it doesn't necessarily pay immediate dividends.

Paying Darelle Revis also works, and it pays immediate dividends.

People act like losing Flowers is perfectly fine. It's not. It makes this a weaker team.
