Tom Brady says he's done "for good"

I don't care that Tampa happened. Montana played for KC, but I think of him as a 49er first. Favre, for all his BS, is a Packer. Manning, maybe a little bit less so, a Colt. Tom is always going to be a Patriot in my book.
Agree. It's really in the eye of the beholder.

We will always consider AV a Patriot but he was a big part of Dolts history as well. I'm certain those fans think of AV as a Colt.

A lot of grown ass men love drama lol

Notice the conversation had nothing about retiring a Patriot.

Neither BB or Tom give a **** about it.

It's certain fans and the whiney biotches like Mazz and Felger who are all about that ****.

I am just happy both side have publicly gone on record and fawned all over each other. I was really hoping there wouldn't be some sort of Belichick/Parcells Cold War that lingered on so it is great to hear the two of them praise each other and genuinely seem to mean it. Hoping Brady comes back into the fold somewhat up here in New England with public appearances and somewhat and we can pretend like those Tampa years never happened.
The thing is, as Tunescribe said, that's how they've always talked about each other. Maybe it's a bit more amplified now that TB12 is out of the game, but it's always been mutual respect. This whole "who's greater" nonsense has always been a media-driven thing.

basically Gisele ruined all this
I doubt Tom sees it that way.
He was emotional on his retirement vid.
He was emotional on this podcast.
He lost 15 pounds during the season.
The only team he'd play for is Tampa.
This man is not acting like his ball-washers here suggest he would.

I'm actually glad for the Tampa title; while this, by definition, may not get any traction with deniers, it does IMO put the lie to the "system quarterback" nonsense.

I am listening to the podcast as we speak and the back and forth is even better than some of the snippets floating around on Twitter yesterday. It is crazy to hear Bill with his guard down just talking about what Tom means to him and telling some stories from the last 20 years.

I pick Jules every day and twice on Sundays. He always comes up big in the clutch while Welker chokes in the spotlight. Welker might have put up better numbers at times, and ostensibly played in the same slot position, but I'm taking Edelman over him every time!
Only knock on Welker was he disappeared in the playoffs, Jules Thrived in the playoffs!

Agreed. was pretty cool. Obviously BB was always complimentary of Tom through the years, but it was really cool to hear some of his stories.

Yes it's very heartfelt, and genuine. To me personally...it puts all these media speculation to rest about this ongoing issue between Tommy and BB.. it's clear they both have natural love and respect for each other..

It also even gave me more respect for BB for the coach that he is..

I'm listening to it now. They are effusive in their praise for each other. Just makes me think these guys who hate Bill are clueless. If Tom can be effusive in his praise for Bill, who the hell are they to hate on Bill? It's crazy talk.

Bill: Player's win games. You can't win games without great players, and coaches can lose 'em. If coaches don't give them a good opportunity, to give them a chance, where they can have a fair fight fight, and win on their ability, then, you know, great players can't overcome bad coaching.

I guess BB is a Bradyite lol. @MAC10 must agree with me.

LOL!! It's too funny how invested people get in what is said by these guys in these moments. Did anyone think Bill was gonna start **** on Tom's Podcast? Of course they're going to blow smoke up each other's ass. Great, probably some of it is genuine sentiment, and these two accomplished more together than any other QB/HC duo in the history of the league, and obviously Tom is the "greatest" like Bill stated several times, he would look like a complete dope if he stated otherwise. They're both the respective GOATs.

However, we don't have to have a kumbaya moment while burning all copies of Wickersham's books. Bill and Tom's relationship soured and they had an acrimonious split in 2020. Among all of their great moments together, there also were grievances and conflict, and a few minutes of predictably lauding one another within a week of Tom's retirement doesn't wipe any of that away.

So, there's still plenty of meat on the bone, 'Brady and Belichick' is about more than just a partnership, it's a competition too (which is a natural component of it), and generally the people who don't like it are the ones who have found themselves on the wrong end of the debate.

Um, Robert Kraft has been the most outspoken about Brady retiring as a Patriot.

I personally don't give a **** about it, and preferably it won't happen, but I certainly wouldn't expect Brady and Belichick to have a public discussion about it either. It's obviously a discussion for mundane talk radio... maybe even Bob can call in?

Sounds like what I said recently on the forum. Of course I was an idiot for saying it.

I'm sure they disagreed on a lot of things and they even admitted to it in the podcast, but the stories coming out I've always felt was overblown. The split was mutual Tom wanted to try something new and BB wanted to go younger
Did you even hear/see the podcast?
The body language, speech tone, everything you can tell they both appreciated/appreciate each other.

I missed that, but Bill has always said it's a players game.

well..that's because you ARE an idiot...or an embedded troll POS...after the hundreds of up his azz Lamar posts you've made here the past year I'm leaning to Troll POS

There's a reason why people don't associate Montana with KC or Favre with any team other than the Packers. Because neither won **** with those other teams. Manning is less a Colt because he won a Super Bowl (albeit on fumes) with another team. Same with Brady, he's a huge part of the Buccaneers history now and Brady's time in Tampa Bay is a huge part of his legacy.

LOL!! That reply was too predictable. I'm not hating on you brother. Oh well, to each his own.

Not from my high backed leather chair. It's there, but it's more of a footnote.

let me clarify -
1) i believe Gisele was the catalyst for him to leave us (patriots). im sure there were relationship issues already and she was like its time to go...otherwise Brady probably retires here. the deeply ingrained animosity towards BB clearly isnt there.

2) i think Tom wanted to get one more season in and ride out into the sunset with a competitive season (hopefully on top), but when things blew up this past offseason/into training camp with his ex-wife, it blinded side him and ruined the curtain call on his career. (he lost 15 lbs bc of the divorce). it seems pretty clear Gisele was the driver behind the divorce and Tom wanted to salvage it and it broke Tom

now, you dont have to like Tom as a person, but lets not change the narrative when its pretty clear. did he **** up and neglect her? maybe....but it wasn't like he changed who he was 5 years into the marriage.

whats are the ball washers suggesting? BB seemed to wash his balls too
