I've not tracked much Bucs inside baseball, but I'm quite curious about what went into the decision to hire Bowles. Even if somebody seriously bought the idea that Brady wanted Arians gone (and I don't want to get into that), he nonetheless was the ultimate competitor and his presence alone could attract many a talented coach. Plus, as he laid out in this recent interview with Bill, he clearly didn't mind getting some pushback provided mutual respect was there between him and a coach. Considering that Bowles failed with NYJ, and that he staked his reputation on his defensive mind, well....I wonder what could have feasibly been in terms of feasible alternative hires.
