Deadspin put up a video of three hits to Newton's head, two of them from a couple angles each:

I'm pretty sure there was at least one more helmet-to-helmet earlier in the game and I know another occurred when Cam was running out of bounds. A Bronco also got away with slapping him in the head. So in total there were at least five direct, launching hits and only one got called, but it was offset by the grounding penalty. Pretty shameful officiating.

well, of course it was Danny...any fan of almost any team would think exactly as you do. Takes a special kind of turnip brained submoron to minimize the carnage the refs allowed out there tonight.

oh please take a look, those are pretty much all outside the pocket.

Cam is a unique player. you wouldnt want the patriots to just let him go head first into your defense and not being able to hit back.

Demvers defense still looked good, or Carolina just isn't that good of a team.

You should read the rulebook some time.

He doesn't need to...he just asks Kurt "I Talk To God" Warner to instruct him in the ways of vacuous, braindamaged sound bytes.

If you only saw one, I suggest maybe you clean your glasses. There was at least two he was in the pocket for when he got speared in the head.
I only saw one hit to Newton's head - but that might be because I only watched that final drive of the game, and even then I was only half paying attention.

Am I the only one who prays this team is in a good enough position when we play Denver, where we can sit Gronk the whole game. Derby and Bennett. Ive been saying it for years, Denver is the dirtiest team by a large margin. Von Miller is scum, and TJ ward is right there with them. Every play I get nervous watching Gronk when we play them. Id much rather just have them beat them down without him, and sit him as a statement.

Probably not. And from what I saw tonight, the drugs are well and in effect in Denver, still. The lack of either of these 2 will sink the Pats against the Broncos as of now.

1) No run game
2) No deep threat

I'm not sold on 1, but I feel Mitchell can be 2. I hope. If not, yikes.

Carolina wasted an opportunity at 7 points just before the first half ended. All timeouts were gone? The only one with enough brains to get out of bounds to stop the clock was Olsen.

CJ Anderson just destroyed Carolinas run defense.

I think denver is a much better tean than we all think.

Or Carolina isn't as good as people make them out to be. Denver's defense is legit, but still don't think they're as good as last season, but will see.

Carolina had a good run game vs Denver and their offense still looked like garbage. Brady with a healthy set of weapons has and could pick that defense apart. Carolina doesn't have one receiver that can get open almost automatically after the snap, Patriots have plenty. All of their WRs are huge big strike types of players, which allows denvers pass rush to get home to the QB.

you realize the play you are complaining about..... had an offensive face mask penalty on it? So even if they did call it, would have offset.

Thank goodness Deadspin is on the case. They made the montage. But yeah, everything's hunky dory here....just a regular 'ol fooBAWL game...no need to call enough on this stuff.....

And finally..the head slap that was penalized...

Over/under on fines from NYJFL* HQ today? I'll start at 0.

you moronic tick brained troll...I'm not complaining about anything. Anyone who OBSERVED the game saw numerous head shots perpetrated on Newton. I don't particularly care for Newton but I positively DESPISE scumbag little lamby trolls like you that just can't stop their 16 year straight biatch crying over a game they THINK their bigmouth team should have won.

Wow. I didn't watch the game - cleaning out my toenails, scrubbing garbage cans, mucking horse stalls - pastimes way more fun than watching the Donks raise a banner.

That said, looks like the usual home cooking travesty this time perpetrated on Carolina. All of those shots look blatantly obvious too - not the "was he hit in the chest, shoulder or head" glancing blows but full on crown to crown headhunting.

Did ^%$#* Goodell hire Vince McMahon or something as his new director of referees? If any crew chief named Hebner comes out of the locker room after game four, steel chairs to the knees will not only be legal, but encouraged.

play it at full speed. not slow motion. Any football hit looks hard in slow motion.

Cam will probably pass the concussion protocol and play next week and people will still cry.
