Obviously, the play calls (runs) were designed to give the defense a breather, especially after seeing the D on the field for about 85% of the first quarter.

I tend to agree with your post, but there is no way McD is capable of calling that many good plays. I think the frustration, at least on my end, is that McD never seems to adjust and continually throws out the same type of head scratchers that never work. If he called even 4 straight plays that ended in a TD, I would happily admit that I was wrong about him.
