Let's do some math.

Talentwise, I'd call Dennard around a solid 40th overall pick. That's 500 points on the value chart. Even if there's a 75% chance that he never suits up as a Patriot, it's still a terrific roll of the dice in round 7.

Looks like we had real plans for the late rounds. Probably the reason we took bad value trading out of 63. No one wanted it badly and we were stuck in a position to have to trade it to get more picks that could be converted to multiple picks in late rounds.
Seems like there was a reason for getting fleeced in value. It would take an abacus but following the track of the trades that left us with nothing after the 2nd and 2 1s and 2 2s, causing these moves would make an interesting study.
