8 picks away guys!!! any idea as to who we take? IDK what the deal is with Crick but i hear he would've been 1st round talent if he didn't get injured...

Its not worth arguing about. You misunderstood my post, and continue to.
There is no point arguing about why your response has nothing to do with the point of my post.

If it's not worth arguing about, and I agree with that, then quit pretending that you aren't bright enough to see that I'm responding to precisely what you were claiming.

You made a really stupid argument, and then you were too damn stubborn to just admit it. Let it die now.

No, not at all.

So it's just as likely that BB was having an Al Davis senior moment as it is he had suspicions the guy he really wanted was in danger of being picked up by someone else? Look it, I can't figure out the pick at this point either....just think there's more to it than an Al Davis Ouija Board epiphany.

The iinitial reaction on this board was we drafted a special teamer. It was a viral topic.

The initial reaction on this board was we wasted the #17 pick on a guy who wouldn't play in 2011

The initial reaction on this board was 'we used a 3rd round pick on a guy who is only a short yardage back' also viral.

Again, initial reaction belied that

That is your opinion and you are entitled to believe that BB is so whacked out that you know all of this as fact and he is too stupid to see it. Thats fine.
I am only pointing out that the initial reactions on this board, particularly the know it all ones such as the above examples and the one you just posted seem to have a pretty poor track record.

While you quote the reaction of some on this board, it was easy to justify BB's selections at the time based on information readily available. All had huge upside who dropped for various reasons. One could also find reports on Vollmer's upside that justified his pick.

There is nothing available that says this kid has any upside and is anything more than another Ventrone brother, or better than any bottom of the roster safety who would be available off the street after the draft. He would be acceptable as a 5th at best because that's his upside. The Pats must have had someone on their board, a WR, OL or DL, who was rated (substantially) higher. If he was the highest rated player left on the board, all other teams in the league have to be idiots.

this draft is seriously all over the place. I don't think any 2 teams agree on anything.

Agreed, and it's making me a little calmer about the Wilson pick. This was just a messy, ugly draft class.

Solid bengals team gets better.

Only 8 left, like my 18 pack of PBR.

The concept of VALUE is too difficult for you to understand.

Tavon Wilson is the 212th overall rated player in the 2012 NFL Draft

http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=84999&draftyear=2012&genpos=SS

He was the 212th rated player by an INDEPENDENT site that the Patriots do not use or even consider. The Patriots have their OWN scouting staff and they do their OWN ratings. This is well known.

That being said, we've not seen such a large gap between where a player was talked about (mid/late 5th to UDFA) and where the Pats actually took him (2nd) that I can remember.

Seriously, who wants to get GRONKED?!!????!!?

Could be worse . . . .

I don't think you really understand value. Here is a hint...it doesn't matter what the value is to nfldraftscout.

Ive heard analysts say that value of a pick doesn't mean anything if it works out for you. meaning if this wilson guy turns out to be an amazing pick then getting him at 48th was a good idea..... but we'll see... can't argue this in april though.

Seriously, this is where you were trying to go with your argument? I may owe Andy an apology, because his argument may actually have been better than yours.

Saneu off the board...

No one was trolled harder then Saneu...

…Who ever was that scumbag who prank called him yesterday needs to kill himself..

..Just saying, just my thoughts, just what I am feeling at this time…

Malik Jackson, Lamar Miller, Ron Brooks, Juron criner, Cam Johnson to add to previous lists

Malik Jackson seems like a BB pick, so does Armond Armstead. Both powerful, with good pedigrees. Cam Johsnon would be a great pick right at this point. Alameda Ta'amu of Washington is a good spot right now as well.

I can see why Miller is dropping after listening to his Sirius interview yesterday.

You mean other than being drafted by BB in the second round?

Wilson is durable (49 out of 50 games) and tough - workout "rat" - 2 things we haven't seen enough in DBs much lately. He is a team player - moved to safety because of injuries. He can back up both corners and safeties. Hard hitter, good against the run. Here is a review I don't think I've seen here;
ProFootballWeekly.com - Draft Prospect - Tavon Wilson

It was posted earlier. I don't understand BB picking him so high especially given the last sentence of the report.

People can pick at every little thing, he's also "physically and mentally tough", BB drafts as much for depth as for starters. They have had a tough time for a few years keeping DBs on the field. Also since Rodney Harrison we haven't had enough good hits back there.
