The Annual Draft Binkie Thread

Most of my binkies are later round guys.

RB: Jacorey Croskey-Merritt
WR: Jayden Higgins and Isaac TeSlaa
OT: Jack Nelson
IDL: CJ West
EDGE: Jah Joyner
LB: Jihaad Campbell

This is the narrowed down version
Jihaad is such a bizarre name to give your child.

Sigh.

What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.
Yeah? But Jihaad has a specific meaning. Typically has a negative connotation. It’s like if I named my child Nazii.

Jihad has a wider definition than violent struggle. It just means struggle which could be personal or spiritual. Context is king.

Agreed, but over the last 30-40 years, it has a much more negative connotation. Words like Global Jihad have been heard for decades involving terrorist attacks. Just like the Koran, it has been used to fit several terrorist group’s interpretations of each to attack non Muslims. The Koran and Jihad we’re not meant to be negative or hateful of other humans, but terrorist groups have their own agenda involving the Koran and Jihad.

It’s kind’ve like people use the Bible to push THEIR interpretation of the Bible on other people. So called religious people in the States want to ban books (because save the children in school, except when schools shootings happen, then it’s “thoughts and prayers”), yet 90% would ban the Bible if the book title were changed and they saw what was in it.

Didn’t mean to offend anyone and talk about religion and politics.

Efton Chism III, WR, Eastern Washington - His 4.7 forty might mean he doesn't get drafted, but he is a very accomplished slot receiver. He broke a number of Cooper Kupp's receiving records at Eastern Washington.

Since I don’t see a binkie thread for 2025, I figured I’d start one. Here are mine in no particular order.

Cam Skatteebo RB Arizona State- I just love this guy. He reminds me of a young John Riggins, but a smaller version. Runs with violence, has good hands out of the backfield. I just think he’s special. I heard someone call him a more talented Rex Burkhead. I’d take that every day.

Jack Bech WR TCU- He won’t be the only TCU WR on my list. Seems to catch everything. Could be this year’s Puka Nacua. May not have great speed (similar to Nacua), but has good agility, had a 6.84 three cone. Has good size too at 6’1” 215.

Savion Williams WR TCU- This guy intrigues the hell out of me. A true Swiss Army knife of a player. BIG receiver at 6’5” 225. But also ran the ball for TCU. Reminds me so much of Cordarrelle Patterson.

Mason Taylor TE LSU- Probably the best blocking top 5 rated TE in the 2025 draft, broke the LSU TE record becoming the 1st LSU to eclipse 100 catches and 1000 yards for his LSU career (they obviously don’t throw to their TE’s a lot). Had a very good combine as well. He’s a better receiving TE than his stats indicate.

Josh Conerly OT Oregon. Excellent pass blocker and solid run blocker. Gave up 9 pressures all season. A TRUE LT. I wouldn’t mind him at 38 if we wind up getting Hunter at 4.

Those are just a few, I’m sure I’ll add more in the coming weeks. Who are your 2025 draft binkies ?
Those are my guys piss me off!!

My draft binkie is Issac TeSlaa WR Arkansas. What is not to like about a 6'4" 214-pound receiver that runs 4.44 and is the #1 WR at the Combine with a Relative Athletic Score (RAS) of 9.93 out of 10. His 3-cone drill was 6.85. We have no receiver on our roster that has both sub 4/5 speed and sub 7.0 3-cone drill (quickness).
I recently found out that he has 10" hands and ZERO drops in two years at Arkansas in the SEC. It's not his fault the QB wasn't throwing to him! He had 34 and 28 catches in those two seasons but a 19.46 YPC.

Yeah, like him a lot. Certainly has unbelievable measurables, and I saw him in a few Arkansas games this year. He is truly something the Pats don’t have.

I like the idea of adding a super athletic WR on day 3 every other year. Teslaa, Dont’e Thornton or Jaylin lane all fit that definition this year. My only issue with Teslaa is that, unlike those other two, that athleticism doesn’t really show in film but those hands are a big plus.

He is one of mine as well.
