It is clear as day what BB's thinking was in terms of why he did not trade Jimmy.
1. If TB12 goes down, he doesn't think Brisset is ready or can lead the team to the SB. He thinks Jimmy has the chance. He is not Bill Polian. He puts a tremendous amount of value on risk assurance
2. He has determined Jimmy is a top 5 NFL QB prospect and the offers he received did not meet that value standard.
3. He is willing to let the season play out and pillage CLE in 2018. They might already have a deal in place for all we know.
The only one that makes sense is number 3 or Jimmy will be the starter for this team sooner rather than later. Having a top 5 QB and letting him go to FA is a huge blunder.
Backup QBs rarely see the field. You don't waste a first round pick on a backup QB, because a first round pick should be a starter and hopefully an impact player.
