Well that cements it for me. Barwin will be a Patriot in 2009. ;-) THREE positions in one -- OLB/TE/LS. That versatility is really tough to beat.

I honestly didn't even know about the LS capabilities. I knew about his versatility and special teams presence, but this makes me even higher on him. I think it'd be great if he were around at #34. I know some are still doubting him, and that they feel he's overrated, but with all he can do, it just seems like a somewhat 'safer' type pick.
 
That's like asking, what if Paxton got hurt. Any player has risk of injury, you just find another player to do it and move on. But not having to spend a roster spot on a dedicated LS, that's such a huge plus in my book.

Sure, except that a full-time LB has many more opportunities to get hurt during the course of any game than a LS does.
