maybe he actually values the organization and realizes he needs to prove he can be a good person as well as a good player. He said he loved the patriots and finally felt like he felt like he was actually part of a team. Some people value that pretty highly
While he said that initially, he kind of changed his tune the day after the season ended.
I'm not going to belabor this Ewan...other than to say... if YOU were a betting man, what side of the issue would YOU put your money on?...me, I'm going for the greedy agent/get as much as possible side....
No doubt about it. Talib and his agent will take full advantage of this incredible opportunity of bringing his career back from the dead. He went from the outhouse to the penthouse in 8 short weeks from mid-November to mid-January.
We're talking about a guy who very well could have had his entire career down the toilet had he gone from Tampa to another lousy team. He would have been labled a problem child, a bust, and at best been a candidate for someone to take a chance on with a pretty cheap deal in the coming months. Instead, he went to a high profile playoff team with tons of media attention, who happened to be chasing a round one bye. They had 7/9 of his games played in the national television (prime time, game of the week country-wide, or playoff) spotlight, and he rode a wave of momentum and was basically single handedly credited with the entire turnaround of the defense by himself.
He made a couple/few key plays during that time, and offered a body that could finally play some man coverage. It's worth noting that in the 8 games of the second half since he was traded he had the following stat line in the regular season:
6/8 games played
2 passes deflected
1 INT
1 fumble recovered
13 tackles

One would have to be a complete idiot to not take full advantage of his opportunity, unless they happened to really buy into the team way and the prospects of taking a fair deal to play for a playoff team. I'm just not seeing Talib in that light myself. All hints tell me that this is a no-brainer.
