At 5-10, 280 lbs, he is not playing LG in this league. C/FB is realistically where he could find a place. He's definitely got NFL heart and effort.

He's 1/8 inch shy of 5'11 and he's 290.

Go look at his film then talk about whether he can play in the league. Manx has posted several videos of him dominating DTs who are 6-8 inches taller than he is.

He's not playing LG. Could he fill in, sure but for any length time. Sorry but he's an effective FB/C in this league.

I also think rhe goal right now should be upgrading the talent level and athleticism of the back end of the roster. TC exposed just how bad the depth was. Just improving the overall talent and skill level would be a plus, not expecting any cast-offs turning into gold.

Keep pushing the overall talent level up, and coach up what you have. Rinse and repeat, and with luck we may see an NFL caliber roster within our lifetimes.

It now seems like the best time to add some premier developmental players to the roster. The bottom of our roster belongs on the PS, so we have the room. QB TE OL

Lampkin is interesting in that he’s injured, but no one knows how bad.

If it’s a week or two you can claim him and justify waiting it out to see what the kid has.

If it’s longer you really can’t claim him at all.

And you don’t know unless you claim him and give him a physical.

But…

Four pancake blocks from a rookie in a preseason game isn’t normal and certainly worth a look to my eyes size he damned.

I don't see Vrabel adding a 3rd QB to the 53 man roster - PS yes once things shake out

I agree with your assessment that the bubble guys are all potential PS squad guys and I think you'll see some of them on it especially after Week 1 when annual salaries are no longer guaranteed and you'll see some veteran pickups, hopefully at OL/TE/FB and prob DB.

The name of the game right now is protecting assetts and that means keeping certain guys on the 53 man rather than risk moving them to PS

It's safer to move those guys to PS once the NFL shuffling takes place - at that point other teams are just making final roster moves themselves and aren't likely to try to grab a guy freshly placed on the PS

Bear in mind that if the Pats DO need backups in the season they also have the ability to draw from other PSs as long as they are willing to put them on the 53 man roster - if indeed there's a need.

Tommy DeVito claimed. Good depth addition.

Jalyn Armour-Davis didn't make it to us.

JuJu Brent is 6' 2 3/4" with 34 1/2" arms, a 6.63 3-cone and 1.4 10 split. physical good tackler. Carlton Davis is a stopgap, Brent might offer more upside than others.

Patriots additions

QB Tommy DeVito: Claimed off waivers
RB Terrell Williams: Re-signed to practice squad
TE C.J. Dippre: Re-signed to practice squad
OT Jack Conley: Re-signed to practice squad
OL Mehki Butler: Re-signed to practice squad
ED Bradyn Swinson: Re-signed to practice squad
CB Charles Woods: Claimed off waivers
CB Miles Battle: Re-signed to practice squad

Somewhat telling that the only claimed offensive linemen were undrafted rookies. Every offensive lineman who has played a regular season NFL snap was judged to be either good enough to make a 53 or bad enough to clear waivers.

(In fairness to Strange and Kenyon Green, probably the first round guaranteed money at play too.)

"Promising". Who wrote that, his mother?
Click bait. If they wrote "disappointing draft pick fails in quest to raised the dead" or whatever the hell he said, no one would click it. But the evil/clueless Pats cut a promising kid with a bright future? Let me click that twice!

Hell just you sayin' that made me click it a few times

Baker gone i see.

I was really looking forward to seeing people jump out of their wheelchairs....guess I'll have to wait till we play his next team.
