You understand that “take his head off” does not necessarily imply that defenses should be hitting him illegally, correct? Brady should get trucked whenever he blocks. That he doesn’t speaks to the pure volume of respect he has from players around the league.

I'm not sure what has possessed you to think you have any kind of argument on your side, here. Players have been saying what Sharpe said, in one form or another, for a long, long time.

If you watch the play, however, he gave a minimal block that didn't hurt him or the recipient and knocked the guy off his line, which of course was the intent. Even if the QB is now Lamar Jackson on an RPO for instance, there should not be an intent to injure him from the defender, just bring him to the ground with the usual force for a normal ball carrier.

When did Sharpe advocate that they go out of their way to hurt Brady? Football is a contact sport. Blockers make contact. The defense should make contact back. Brady should, rightfully, get trucked/lit up/get his cap peeled if he’s going to go out to block. He opens himself up to that whenever he gets in front of a runner.
