Boycott Patriot Place .... I think it's what we all should do to voice our displeasure.

This is the right way to approach this.

Pretty simple question...your best guess.

If you think that because an NFL source said there is no Brady deal, I would just say that it would be insane to make the deal public if the goal is to save Brady's image, so I wouldn't read too much into Bedard's report. I think it will be telling to see if Brady continues to do everything he can to get a neutral arbitrator; if his legal team no longer fights having Goodell as the arbitrator, then you can be pretty sure there was some kind of deal. Either way, I don't think that will appease many fans who don't see why you should lose a first and fourth round draft pick and have a permanent stain on the organization when the team did nothing wrong.

While I am disappointed, I'm not surprised. There are a couple of things to consider here.

1. it was likely that legal opinion that Kraft was given by his lawyers is that there is little chance of getting any of the penalties reduced through the courts.

2. Kraft is first and foremost a business man. The last thing he wanted to do was turn his back on a guy that has made him millions. Is he a Pats "fan"? Sure. But his first priority is the dollar bill.

As great as it would be to see things go nuclear, the result would have likely be the same. Hence the decision, as much as it sucks.

The NFLPA, that is a whole other story. They have never had as big an opportunity as they do now to neuter the Commissioner's discipline powers. I expect an all out war there.

maybe Kraft is setting it up for when after he sells the team, he'll get the franchise rights for the London or LA expansion team. because the only way Kraft gets more friends is if there are more owners.
none of this makes sense as why he would do this without the NFL giving something back. the whole thing stinks. makes my head hurt

Multiple sources have already said there's no deal involving Brady. And Beddard is connected to the NFL as well as anyone.

This is what I think may have happened.

1) Goodell does not want to fight the Pats or Brady in court. He let this get out of control and now he needs it to die down.
2) Kraft is pissed. He doesn't want to fight the NFL in court but may have to 'cause of the harshness of the penalties and having his greatest star under fire.
3) Goodell appoints himself arbitrator in the Brady case so he has something to go to Kraft with. He meets Kraft on the weekend. "Bob, I am arbitrator in the case. If you drop the team appeal/case then I will drop the Brady suspension. The NFL doesn't want to go to court and I'm sure you do not also. You get Brady's suspension dropped and we get the team penalties upheld. We both get to save some face."

Now for us as Pats fans, we want total absolution of any wrong doing, but Kraft as an owner does not want to be in court fighting the league. He doesn't have the demeanor of Al Davis, it's us against the world. He loves being a big cog in the NFL machine so in his mind taking a hit but getting the Brady's suspension dismissed is a better alternative then going against the league and taking it to court.

Now if he just gave up without any backroom dealing and making sure Brady's suspension is dismissed then he's a complete coward.

Definitely, but I think we're barking up the wrong tree here - I don't think the quid pro quo (Clarice) has ANYTHING to do with Brady - surely it has to do with $, to which we all now see Krafty Bob is a money grubbing slave. So....perhaps maybe Goodell dangled a Super Bowl in front of Kraft? Or perhaps hosting the NFL Draft at Gillette? Or the pro bowl? Or any other vehicle from which Kraft Money Grubbing Bob can get $$$$$$$......

Chill people. This franchise had one foot and four toes in St. Louis when Bob Kraft stepped up. He hired Bill Belichick when nearly everyone said it was a mistake. He's earned our trust.

Even if he did, it wouldn't matter. Go to any message board and read the response by the fans of the 31 other teams.

Basically, the world all knows the Pats are guilty, and Kraft is just accepting the fact.

He put Brady in a lose lose situation. If his punishment is overturned it's because Kraft cut a deal, but Bradys still a cheater. If it's upheld, well Bradys still a cheater who didn't own up to his cheating ways like Kraft did.

I believe there most likely is a deal to lift the suspension. Why would the NFL want Brady and the NFLPA to take the Wells report to court? They know it is BS and it would be an embarrassment for the NFL.

Don't be surprised at all if there is an announcement that Brady's suspension will be lifted and there will be no justice for Brady.

So this is what they meant by "backdoor negotiations" yesterday. Kraft negotiated to allow the League to continue administering a solid "roger"-ing to Brady's backdoor with no possibility of retraction. "Just leave it deep in there, Rog. Make it feel like a million bucks. He's worth it."

I suppose this is the blowback to be expected when you name yourself the lead plaintiff in a labor disagreement with the owners of the League. They'll get theirs, no matter how long it takes.

I hope Patriots Place includes Gillette Stadium because that's where he gets most of his money. Anything less is an empty gesture.

He gets most of his money from the TV contracts ... not much we can do there ... all owners share that. I am not a season ticket holder ... so I can easily avoid the games at Gillette.
