Post Game Thread: Titans beat the Pats

It turned out that way. We just never showed up

I wonder why he said that and why he could do anything about it. I wish we could get Bentley back this season. There is no hope for the defense for the rest of the year. They are who they are, maxed out of talent.

This really was a game where they were outcoached as well as outplayed. The game planning and playcalling on both sides of the ball seemed to be entirely out of phase with what they should have been. The OL and WRs were problems from the start. The lack of the TE1 really showed with the play of the TE2/TE3. The running game wasn't used enough, and wasn't really worth using anyway. The QB got sped up after a while. The special teams started the game horribly and never really got much better. The defense still hasn't gotten to Nashville.

Maybe the team maintenance staff will have a good day, but that's about the best we can hope for at this point.

I think it's too soon for evaluating Michel beyond his injuries. But I hated Lewis leaving when it happened, and nothing since then has happened to make me change my mind about that.

The Cat can afford a lot of fish and a lot of chicken now.

To have lost him over a relatively small amount of money is one of BB's greatest personnel blunders.*

*Having said that, Lewis will probably get hurt next week, and have people going "See? BB was right!"

Bad game. They'll be fine. They need Gronk as healthy as possible, they need Edelman healthy, Brady needs to rest his arm. They've got four games against the AFC East. The Steelers game looms large.

I am legitimately fearful of Brady's declining arm strength. This is the first time I've had cliff thoughts, and it feels imminent.

Today we saw a defense that was able to eliminate James White via blitzing and bracketing. That's the formula. It's why Gronk matters. And Dwayne Allen would be a significant loss too.

For the Titans, Logan Ryan and Dion Lewis loom large as homegrown players they should have retained, and Harold Landry as a player where they shouldn't have traded away the pick. And Corey Davis looks amazing.
Brady realistically has not looked like Brady since the Chiefs game. There were a lot of balls today impacted by pressure but there were also a lot of weak and/or questionable throws where he didn’t set his feet even with zero pressure. He’s 41 so having the cliff questions is fair.

What’s alarming is they didn’t even show up. Right from the opening kickoff it was a sh*t show.

On O

- our line was a complete mess. It all started there. No time at all for Brady

- some bad drops. Gordon and Hollister both with drive stalling drops

- can the equipment guy give them the right cleats? Joke that a pro team can’t wear the right shoes

On D

- no pressure and bad coverage. Not a good combo

- once again we make a very average QB look like an All Pro.

- one of the worst O’s in the league went up and down the field on us all day. That was an embarrassing performance

On ST

- brutal start giving up a big return.

- big miss from Ghost on a tough but makeable kick
This. All of this. And thank you for pointing out the cleats issue, I was noticing that throughout. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen our guys slip and trip so much as they did today.

Regardless of the outcome of this season, it's a bit concerning to ponder the next 3-5 years, which is presumably Brady's window.

His level of play combined with the roster as currently constituted is a bit worrisome.

We shall see what the future holds.

Awful, horrible, an absolute joke from Belichick all the way down to the last roster spot. If you're going to just walk into a teams home and expect them to surrender because you're the Big Bad Patriots, you've got a rude awakening happening over and over again.

We still have @NY, @Mia, @Pitt, and vs Minn. A 9-7 finish is very possible.

I could not care what Brady thinks he is able to. Think of his window as the season ahead. Now, in 9 months and in 2 years.

Gordon

"The offense felt a little rushed" (then gave some side credit to the Titans DL)

What bad contracts?

McCourty the safety at 13 million, Hightower at 6+ million, Brown, and Shelton. Forum posters will go crazy but Allen also has to go. Without Gronk he doesn't even offer a threat in the passing game to defend. I don't care how well he blocks.

That covers it really. Just nothing went right at all. Even missed a field goal so, it’s just one of those games

So where are all the homies who ganged on me in the GDT for calling a loss early in the game?

I guess your kumbaya did jack 5hit after all...

You see, the difference between me and those of you who jumped me is that I'm objective enough to note when my team's performance simply won't cut it on this given Sunday, unlike your blind Fandom who believe this team can never lose.

And before you rush to jump me again, don't bother I have better things to do with the rest of my Sunday, than entertain your asinine remarks.

Go Pats

You think maybe he will participate in the offseason program this offseason?

Sincerely asking, if is an interesting issue either way. If he does it is he admitting he needed it?
