The play calling on offense has been off and Brady has made some terrible decisions. I hate when he gets down and just chucks it up there. There were a few plays where receivers were covered but James White was open and he keeps holding the ball. It’s like he’s trying to get 14 points on one play.
In years past they never gave up no matter what. The last two weeks they gave up on both games and just mailed it in for the last 5 minutes. I don’t know WTF that is. It’s never over in this league as long as their is time on the clock but they’re not playing with any urgency.
Something is drastically wrong behind the scenes and has been for months and I think it comes from the top down and it’s poisoning the entire team. I don’t know what the resolution is but this team looks flat, emotionless and disinterested.
Whatever happened in the Super Bowl has not been resolved and it’s still eating away at this team.
We literally traded a first round pick for a year of Brandin Cooks and a higher first round pick. You're entitled to have whatever personal feeling you want, but if your personal feeling if also a really stupid take then it's going to be called out as such.
Well they cannot pass because they have no receivers. So I guess they are screwed.
Again, the compensation value has absolutely nothing to do with the results. How do you not understand that?
Considering that BB has been whiffing on his picks and the fact that the guy we drafted in the cooks trade is out for the year, yeah i'd say it's peanuts too.
I'll run with a known commodity like Cooks anyday over a draft pick that is most likely going to turn out as a wasted pick.
The decisions made at WR are understandable, even with how poorly they worked out. The overall offseason strategy of relying so heavily on retread WR (Britt, Matthews, Patterson) was risky. The over reliance on Edelman and Hightower to not only be healthy but back to their prime selves was risky. Hoping career mediocrities Shelton and Clayborn woukd stabilize the DL was outright bad judgment. Not actually improving the LB corps other than 5th round long shots was outright negligent
This team badly needed an infusion of athleticism and upside in the front 7 and BB chose to draft a RB and OL on the 1st round. Very curious and it's looking to be his worst offseason of his career. Nothing he can do about it now but it's a shame to fail so spectacularly in roster management in Brady's waning years.
Yes. I think so too. Look at the last 3 draft classes and it's brutal. That's why the D sucks so much, except Flowers and maybe Wise non of the drafted guys are good enough to be starters. The high earners are not performing either. Hightower, McCourty and Gilmore are being paid at an top5 at their position level and none of them plays like that.
What was the 2nd thing? This game was ugly, but to fix the patriots we need the following:
1.) the d line has to stop the run. Shelton and brown and the ends have to 2 gap because none of them are covering their gaps properly. linebackers have to fill the correct holes on running plays. Bentley and Hightower are constantly out of position.
3.) we need a deep threat on the outside in order to keep defenses from crowding the box.
It’s not rocket science. And we are not far away from being the team we are supposed to be.
Burkhead is always hurt.
Wish we could save the cap and part ways.
So had we traded Cooks for the #1 overall pick, we drafted Bradley Chubb and he got hurt in the preseason, would you still say we traded Cooks for peanuts?
So now they will ask Brady if he threatened to retire if Gronk was traded.Bill is not going to like that Gronk confirmed the reports of an attempted trade.
As far as I’m concerned though Bill can suck it. Is he trying to deplete the roster of talent?

That's exactly how they planned it. Yep, just got rid of them and did nothingSo our defense is just as awful as last year and we replaced the 130 receptions from Cooks/Amendola/Lewis with.....nothing.
How so? I mean, what’s changed from last year that would lead you to believe that Bill Belichick is ruining morale three games into the year? He’s reinstated Guerrero’s privileges, and has given both Brady and Gronk more money. Hell, the guy has twins playing in the secondary. You can’t have twins when you’re destroying team morale, right?Belichick has destroyed this team’s morale.
Gilmore had one bad play. Everything the other 2 did was dreadful.
That's different, or then again maybe it's not cause we all know BB would have traded the #1 overall pick for more draft duds.
