At this point Tyrone Wheatly and Steve Israel would be upgrades. We wasted a lot of money in that secondary....going backward, are we?

Who? Who is saying the defense is fine?
Lol jets might tie ... Be funny if the tie kills their tankAt least its not the jests
Yes. And I won't even entertain any more of your stuff after realizing you weren't even watching the game. You think the coaching staff can make these guys play better?
Every game Gilmore blows coverage.Gilmore and Boger crew. Jump off a cliff! Gilmore should have been more careful after the BS tacky call earlier in the game. Not to mention Gilmore being part of the blown coverage **** off!
I think he has the pure talent to be worth it, he just has to make it happen mentally.
Not sure why everyone is so high on the offense. Brady missed several throws, and overall the play-calling seemed lackluster.
Everyone has.Every game Gilmore blows coverage.
Statistically Brady still on one his best 4 game stretches2 and 2 right now is where we belong with this defense. Brady is good but we realistically cannot expect 35 to 40 from him each game
It does seem weird year after year that we're always talking about the Pats needing a pass rush or needing to fix the pass rush or something regarding the pass rush. The two Gilmore calls gave the Panthers 10 points. The first was negligible at best.
But what makes the Patriots hard to watch so far is not just the blown coverage, but more to the point (and forever it seems) is their systematic no pass rush defense. I guess you gotta say it works, but it's hell to watch, because the guy with the football gets over 3 seconds to pass, making it way too cozy for even poor qbs.
I prefer a defense that wants to stop a team cold anywhere on the field, not just inside the red zone. Get the damn ball back--isn't that the game. Pressure, pressure from a pass rush and the cbs together.
Not at all. Try again.
I wanted butler to get the money not gilmore. So far it looks like a bad signing but its still imo its still to early to say gilmore is a bust. And yet Butler will be gone next March and Gilmore will be here.
They're done. It's week 4 and the defense still sucks. They let scrub Newton walk all over them. Just humiliating
I agree, but it does mostly appear to be Gilmore. And that's not good when you're one of the highest paid at your position in the league.Everyone has.
Because they scored 30?
Some of you seem to have deified Brady to the point where a few missed throws signify something awful. He's always missed throws. He's never completed every pass in a game. Heck, even in their most dominant Super Bowl years, the Patriots punted, often multiple times per game! Crazy, right?
And now we've become what the Saints have been the last few years.
Elite #1/#2 offense in the league while having the worst defense.
At least its not the jests
The reading comprehension challenged idiots who don't get the difference between saying that this defense will take time to click (mid-end October) and saying everything is fine. Just because one has faith in over a decade of experience with BB & co eventually figuring it out doesnt make anyone a homer. With the track record of this coaching staff that is being a realist.
If they look the same at the end of this month then everyone can panic.
