I don't see why the collarbone came up. He took a helmet directly to the middle of his bicep, on the replay the entire arm moves in unison. Dislocated shoulder was my initial guess. The "scream on the sideline" report backed that up, to me. Let's hope he can rest up and play in two weeks.

MRI is for shoulder, not collarbone. Good sign not to hear about a fracture

Waiting for him to have an MRI is both good and bad news. It's good news in that they're pretty sure he's got nothing broken. It's bad news because any sort of ligament damage in the shoulder could force him out for the year..

2 missed field goals or this game's a blowout, and that's with the offense pretty obviously utilizing a style of play designed to keep the Chargers off the field rather than to try to blow the Chargers out of the building.

While I agree (Patriots moved the ball very well, using a time of possession, ball-controlling strategy), they have scored fewer points per game over the last quarter of the season compared with the first quarter, and most of that seems to be due to minor red zone--or 20-40 yards area--problems. Some of it comes down to execution, but it also seems like they're still integrating newer personnel. I expect we'll see the offense bounce back, and I'm not really worried about the stats, but it's not entirely unreasonable to have some level of concern.

Calling today mediocre, however, seems a bit disingenuous.

Maybe, but an MRI here is routine.

By blowout I mean we shoulda scored at least 35+. Absolutely could have happened if offense didn't stall at the 20-40 yard line.

A win is a win...but the offense needs work.

I wouldn't say that we were in possession mode the entire time. In the first 3 quarters, we weren't playing conservatively. You just didn't see those aggressive plays because Brady had pressure and needed to lose the ball quick. Getting the ball into the endzone has been a big issue for this season since you aren't gonna win in the playoffs by scoring 6 pts in the second half, especially when you actually try to get those tds.

Is Dorsett not serviceable if Hogan isn't good to go?

All in all a good win. Chargers are no joke.

I was impressed with the Chargers team speed on both sides of the ball. In the red zone, the Chargers' defense was terrific. Brady had nowhere to go except on the Gronk TD. I wish they had tried a little more power rushing - sweeps led by Gronk and Mason for any one of those backs. Amendola was clearly on a limited snap count and role. They're protecting him for the second half to do more in the short passing game.

Harris showed up today on defense.

They've also become much more RB oriented, particularly in the most recent games, and that's making a difference. It means fewer throws into wider spacing.

As I said at the beginning of the season, and we might as well just use as a trailing disclaimer for every game, losing Edelman was going to make a big difference. JE wasn't necessarily going to score you the TDs, but he was going to force opponents to play a more honest RZ defense.

And, with Allen being tits on a boar, it means they've only got one RZ target.

That's a meaningless platitude with this team. They "should" score at least 35 every game.
