Patriots Player Departure Pats trade Sony Michel to LAR

For the complainers from what I can deduce - he's not an all-pro and dontcha know there could be all-pros at every position?

Would you settle for the starting Safeties of the All-Rookie First Team, both of whom were drafted after Uncle Dugg? I know I would.

Huh? The paid a 4th for a former 1st rounder whose knees are pretty close to shot. And DBs are worth FAR more than RBs in today's NFL so stupid comparison.
Stupid pick from day 1 but you will defend the selection. A 4th round pick for a 1st round pick 28 games later is a great deal to you.

Who told you that his knees are shot?

We seem to allow the Calvin Rildeys DK Metcalfs Keenan Allen’s and AJ Browns to slip through our fingers...
Pftt. Michel has a ring and all those dudes don't and we just got rid of Michel for a 4th.

If it was all about the weaponz, that wouldn't be the case.

..because they didn't like the players avail.

Look up what they paid him. Pennies on the dollar for a 30yo rb

If the NEP drafted Glenn in the BB era at 7 the board would rip him a new one and you'd be 1st in line calling him a bust and saying BB sucks.
ok. Would you admit we gave jonnu and Henry huge money because Asiasi snd Keene were 3rd round busts?

we gave up a 2nd round pick for Dillon. i think if he was 25 and not 30 we give a long extension

glenn was the best physical talent we have drafted at WR in 25 years. i think 1150 yards as a rookie. He made contested catches no one else could make..i mean he floated in the air. And when he was young..he was fast!

Ken, STFU. You arrogantly claim to know so much and crap on anyone who disagrees with you. Then you circle back for a bow from your little cult following. Here’s a great example…you refer to people wanting to trade Michel as “dumber than dirt.”

You wrote: “while we have some talent at the RB position, we are going to need ALL of it to make sure we have 3 healthy RB’s to start each game.”

Now, let’s review your know-it-all, hindsight, revised conclusion from today:
-
I believe the Pats need to have 2 healthy rushing RB's for each game in order for this offense to reach its potential.
-

This should clarify exactly what my issue is with your supposed knowledge, how you constantly belittle people who don’t see eye to eye on roster decisions, and then claim to always know the answer. You’re just utterly full of it. Take a moment to reflect and consider that others WEREN’T dumb before taking your inevitable BS victory lap.

This is why I hate what these threads have become. Everyone who argues for something that hasn’t yet happened - by reasoning - but doesn’t have six rings is a moron and hates the team, and thinks their smarter than Bill…until they're proven right, at which point you’re already onto knowing more than everyone about the next roster decision…with zero self-reflection.

(Hindsight below…your post from today implying that was your view when you called us dumb for advocating a Sony trade. Do you see how you’ve completely reversed your position?)
To some here... bill the GM walks on water

There was.
When?

1964 and 2007 had the most Patriot All-pros on one team:

1964: Buoniconti, Eisenhauer, Parelli, Neighbors and Hall
2007: Brady, Light, Samuel, Vrabel and Moss

And the last SS - Lawyer Milloy in 1999.

So not sure what "there was" even means.

Digging into that 2007 set of All-pros:

Brady - we all know where he was drafted
Light - 2d round draft pick (48 overall)
Samuel - 4th round draft pick
Vrabel - free agent signing
Moss - Trade - 4th round pick (Raiders)

As has been stated many times, it's not just drafting, nor high-round drafting, that inevitably results in All-pro selections for the Patriots - it is a smorgasbord of methods (free agency, trades, and drafting) that produces those results.

I cannot disagree with this statement any more than I already do.
How many more Super Bowls do they win? Does BB pay him $30m beyond his rookie deal?

So, because of a rule not allowing conditional comp picks to be traded, the pats get a 6th in this draft and a 4th the following year.

Has nothing to do with the RB debate. 2021 FA was a weird market. BB was opportunistic. Maybe if Asiasi goes 50/600/5 they only get one??

Who knows. What we do know is in 21 years BB has never shelled out big money for a RB

I liked the Glenn pick too but in his 6 years here is missed 30% of the games, was an off the field problem and over a season averaged 55/778/4TDs a year. Is that a good ROI on a 7th pick in the draft? Like I said, if BB picked TG he'd be killed on this board and you would be leading the charge.
