I certainly don't fault nepatz for raising the issue - and note he's only asking a question, but I think everyone would agree that we shouldn't read too much into this.
Such a theory might be worthy of consideration if they simply brought Capers in as an "Assistant Head Coach" or something, but in this case its clear they were not happy with Colier, fired him, and brought in Capers to take his spot.
In other words what motivated this was a desire to upgrade our Secondary coach, pure and simple. That being said Capers brings broader experience than just a normal positional coach - but that's just a plus, not a statement on Belichick's future.
