I would emulate Atlanta's D schemes. They seemed to work well. Put Rowe on T. Smith and Butler on Agholor. That leaves Jeffery with the Predator, Gilmore. Have McCourty help on Smith over the top. Throw in Harmon to help on Ertz. I would blitz a lot!

On offense you have to survive the early onslaught of that D. Run, screens and trickery. Open up the bag of tricks. You are also on turf. Unleash the speed of Cooks and Hogan. First play...fake to Lewis and screen to Dorsett! I like how shifty he is and the Eagles would likely not expect it.

Lastly, play field position.

Their defense really doesn't get sacks like that. I think they only had 38 ALL season. Thats why this defense doesn't scare me. We held up well against that jaguars very aggressive, pressure based pass rush. Eagles can get pressure from the outside but nothing like Jacksonville can. They also play zone, Brady will eat them alive.

Speaking of, I have to give my man Nate Soldier some props. he did a hell of a job on those Jags rushers last week. He's been up and down generally but I think he had an amazing season this year.

Philly will definitely blitz, maybe a lot, compared to Jax that I think didnt at all.

If they blitz then run the ball! Lewis could get 200 yards.

Jacksonville generally doesn't blitz because they never really had too. They were second in sacks (by 1) because of their ability to rush 4 and get sacks. Eagles only had 38 sacks total all season so they have to blitz to get pressure for the most part.

This is where it would be nice to have A22 footage of Saban / Alabama to see how they deal with RPOs.

According to Eagles fans, they struggle with crossing routes as well

To be fair 1 of those losses was the last game of the season and the Pats had the #1 locked up and Brady was pulled at HT

Brady in his last 2 games vs Schwartz defenses excluding the week 17 2014 game

27 of 37 (72.9%)
361 yards
4 TD
139.6 QB Rating

21 of 27 (77.7%)
341 yards
4 TD
158.3 QB Rating

That first one was against a Bills defense that was pretty much on par with this Eagles defense.

Their DL was Hughes-K.Williams-Dareus-M.Williams. Hughes and Williams combined for 25 sacks. Nigel Bradham was their #1 LB, as he is with the Eagles now.

Attacking the Eagles Defense

1) Power Run-
Teams had some success going Power as opposed to Zone/Gap. Power Off Tackle runs exploiting the B/C Gaps outside. The "Wide9/Attack9" is always vulnerable to power football that splits the wide DE from the l.o.s. and can create a huge lanes. Remember the LB's are so important to this type of D. If they get fooled, blocked etc there is NO ONE covering the C gap.
Think Wham & Trap blocks on DE's. Draws & Counters to combat their "get up field at all cost" style.

2)Dink & Dunk Brady & Josh have the quick passing game down to a science. We'll see the same short shallow crossers, Slant/Flat-VO & screens/tunnels to RB's etc We'll stunt their pass rush and exploit weaknesses in that LB corp. Also this is what the Pats do. They'll take advantage of your weakness but they also aren't going to change completely and will play their game.

2A) Attack Mills.
He's always given up the inside release & can beat on doubles. The eagles secondary has been watching Cooks throttle down on deep comebacks & curls all year, esp last week on Bouye. Attack Mills with both Dorsett & Cooks with speed before throwing at him regularly.

3) Gronk
Philahas no one that can consistently match up w/ 87. Their LB's would be in no mans land as neither has the speed, c.o.d. or nuance in coverage to stay w/ Gronk. And doubling him w/ Jenkins should open up huge mismatches in the m.o.f. considering hes Philas version of Kam who patrols that area. The Eagles have struggled at times w/ TE's & there's no better duo than Gronk & Brady.

4) Be the more physical team! Sounds obvious but Pats must take the fight to Phila. They pride themselves on being the more physical team. It's a common theme throughout the games & losses to KC/Sea. Make them pay and beat the DE's with Traps & get the IOL on the 2nd level beating up LB's.

Thanks for all this. You just saved me hours of research putting together some number crunchers

Brady will see old friend, Jalen Collins in the SB again- expect the same kind of abuse:

Are you saying he's facing the same person?
