Patriots Rumor Tracker / FA Signings (Updated: Signings in OP - 4/7)

Yes sir.. also the emergence of hunter and Parker Washington.. also BTJ missed a few games with a nagging ankle last season as well.. some said he never really recovered from it.. 2nd and 4th.. Shad Khan should take that deal and run!
I think the team said Hunter will be playing almost exclusively at CB in 2026....so the BTJ thing is still a head scratcher.

They now HAVE to upgrade the line and TE or the fullback won’t matter.

Lorenzo Neal couldn’t open holes behind this line.
Correct.. that 2006.. don't laugh at me UGA but I'm tell you Benny brown will end up being the starting LG..

Ring.. I don't know that it's a reason to stay away I'm leaning towards it's more of Cohen offense and hunter, Myers and the other WR name escapes me.. have all been featured more in the offense... BTJ is a very talented kid and could thrive here..

None of the guys you say they are kicking him out of town because of are guys I would want to add.
The guy who is being dumped because of other mediocre players and lost production to them isn’t a guy I want.
If his rookie year was who he is, they would keep him. Hes on a damn rookie contract.

Again, guys who put up numbers when your team sucks then disappear when it gets good aren’t the guys you want. Jacksonville is telling you who he is.

I’d actually have done the opposite and made him a full time WR but I get why they said that.

Your correct Zuma.. remember hearing that late last season regarding hunter.. yeah.. It's puzzling but intriguing he's being made available for sure...

Aside from Thomas they need a wr worse than we do. Buyer beware

Surprisingly kind of agree on both players for different reasons.

Gonzo seems a guy who plays hard when he feels like it. I deeply dislike that. He’s incredibly talented, but also gets burned by JAGS at times because he loses focus.

Maye…I just haven’t seen anything telling me he’s worthy of being the highest paid player in the league yet. Not even close.

If he was, he’d have found a way to throw a few TD’s in the Superbowl pressure be damned.

You know darned well a young Mahomes would have done it.

That’s the 2026 standard. Clutch, not clutch. Drake just hasn’t shown it yet. Doesn’t mean he can’t become that, but he objectively hasn’t yet.

If he does next year, pay him.

You are out of your goddamn mind.

Do some people still think the NFL functions as it did in 1997? The money is crazy for players because the league makes crazy money, the cap goes up year after year because revenue goes up year after year and todays crazy money is a good deal within 3 years. Unless YOU own one of the teams you are pretty pathetic for worrying about the owners pocket book.

The bigger problem is I think Kraft still looks at the finances likes its 1997, where the cap is actually a constraint and year over year growth is more tenuous. Sorry but the NFL is entering European football club level spending territory, either keep up or sell it.

Parker Washington.
When a 6th rd JAG is more productive, that's not a good sign.
I'm not saying BTJ can't get back to his rookie form, but zero chance someone is giving a 1st for him.
Yes! Thanks DD! Yes as I said to @UGAPatsfan. A 2nd &4th should be the offering and throw in a jack Westover while were at it.. to hold the helmets on the sidelines..

My thing is, if we are talking about a 1 , get an elite lineman instead. You could argue the best way to improve the offense is actually by giving Drake more time and creating an elite running game.

Get your panties unwaded. It isn’t the number itself that bothers me, it’s the % of cap it represents. $70MM is a number I’ve heard a a lot.

That’s 23% of your cap for ONE player. If that player isn’t hands down the best of his era and possibly all-time, you can’t do it.

Because who exactly will be around him to play?

I would love an alpha #1, but you are 100% correct.
A good line and running game is the best way to move the offense forward.
We won 6 SBs without a top end #1.
Jules was good, so was Troy, but they were never considered top 5 or even top 10 in their careers.

Personally I’d LOVE going back to the shifty and tough route runners of old. It worked then and would now.

But it doesn’t seem Drake wants to play that way.

This is true.
Drake is far more physically gifted than Brady, and we don't want to take that out of his game, but you don't need a $30M/year WR to have a legit deep threat.
There are guys in the draft, just gotta pick one that is worth a piss.
BB was bad at that, Vrabs and Co. are hopefully better.

I so badly want to like Brazzel out of TN but man…when was the last TN WR worth a damn? And analysts are openly saying the same thing. Basically the TN offense is “run deep”.
