Its the same song and dance every year, we haven't done anything, all the good players have been scooped up, the FO sucks, kraft is cheap. I just realized ive been hearing this for twenty years.

Because he got an offer for more than he's worth.
He's a space eater, it's literally the easiest position to replace.
Can find his replacement in the 6th rd of the draft, or a cheaper FA.

Seriously? You think they are not trying to improve the offense?
You think that the only way to improve is to overpay the most?
Paying more than anyone else will is not a sound strategy.

We were the #2 offense in the NFL. We faced 4 of the 5 best defenses in the NFL and beat 3 of them.
The offense was held back by weather and pass blocking.
Barking out the highest number isn’t how you fix that effectively.

We were the #2 offense with 3 rookie starters and a 4th that played a lot.
We were the #2 offense with 7 new starters, brought in in one off season.
We will add players. Not adding the ones that people over paid for isn’t not trying, it’s not going crazy.

There are always a few posters who are going to loose their if we don’t sign every available free agent on Day One…salary cap and prudence be damned!!! It wouldn’t be PatsFans.com if it were any other way!

Maybe not worth the money in their eyes. There were reports that they had contract discussions earlier in the year but could not agree. So I am guessing that the FO put a price on him and he felt he was worth more. It happens

Why do you want to pay a journeyman DT on the wrong side of 30 twice what he's worth, when he really had maybe...6 good games?

They lost because the OL was awful and they Seahawks exploited it. The Pats also didn't have WR's that can get open quickly enough which included Diggs. Diggs can no longer beat man coverage and had defenders constantly dragging him down immediately after he'd catch the ball.

OL needs a C and G. People thinking Wilson is the favorite at C is straight up insanity.

Defense cracked because they were constantly on the field.

If they don’t spend their cap allotment not retaining a player is cheap.
If they do, not retaining a player means they think he is not worth it.
Tonga got a bag and haven’t worth that much last year.

I always have 2 goals for Day 1. These goals have been met.

1) that we make a couple of good signings

2) that we avoid terrible signings (usually huge overpays)

I like the options in the draft way better, it's a deep class with lots of intriguing prospects.
Likely stinks and Otton is a JAG. Fant...ah no.

I’m not giving up a 1 in that scenario. Teams do not trade WR’s on rookie deals unless something is very off. Buyer beware.

Agreed.. Farmer dealt with some injuries last season but he came on as. Rookie and is a sturdy presence in the middle.. I expect him to have a bigger role.. also solid rotational guys in Davis and Gregory.. Farmer is the guy who can do alot of what Tonga did.. now we have a real FB so Tonga wish him well in KC..
