If the Pats traded for Hendrickson, the pressure on Maye would sky rocket.
Pressure on any starting QB is always high.
If the defense is getting more sacks, improving field position and giving up less points then you would need less from the offense. More runs and play action.

Per Unfiltered:

- Bradbury, Brown and Wilson rotated at Center and LG today
- Baker not at practice
- Chism makes the 53, Baker does not
- Lazar: concern about Maye reading disguised coverage's
- Lazar: Jennings didn't just get sacks the last game, he also dominated the Tackle
- Lazar: Vrabel seeing if Dugger can play Quarters vs the Vikings

Line has some protection issues, especially early: I had four sacks of Drake Maye and two of Josh Dobbs. Those sacks:

Keion White vs. Marcus Bryant - Dobbs
Robert Spillane up the middle twice - Maye (one negated a ridiculous one-handed catch by Mack Hollins)
Jabrill Peppers vs. Antonio Gibson - Dobbs
K'Lavon Chaisson vs. Will Campbell - Maye
Harold Landry on a game vs. Ownenu/Moses - Maye

Standout passes by Maye:

Austin Hooper deep seam pass
Steph Diggs over Robert Spillane
Hunter Henry deep seam over Christian Eliss

Maye, offense finish well situationally: Patriots had 1:30 on the clock, needing a field goal and Maye was 5 of 7 on the drive — including a standout seam pass to Hunter Henry over Christian Elliss — that ended with a 43-yard field goal by Andy Borregales. Parker Romo made his 44-yarder after a jog through completion from Maye to Demario Douglas.

Yup. Trading for Hendrickson would not put more pressure on Maye.

MVP! MVP! MVP!
RB TreVeyon Henderson: Had two receptions in the two-minute drill, and a big run in team sprung by a Mack Hollins block.

Hottest topic of the day? Or just "eh, they won't meet the Bengals asking price" - rumored to be asking for a 1st... sounds steep to me for a 30/31 year old guy...

Not for a 1st Round Pick Pape. Still a stude as a Pass Rusher though. Just wish he was a lot younger.

Meanwhile:

Unfortunately, this was the worst year to need a LT and be at the top of the draft. I think Campbell will be at least decent at LT. He doesn't look like he will be a franchise Pro Bowl or All Pro caliber LT. But Membou from this video could be a lot worse. And he is playing RT and not LT.

What need are greater?
You have an aging Landry on one side, a disappointing White on the other, and a cast off bust Chaisson behind them. Then who?
Find me a team that is worse at edge rusher. I can’t find any.
So your good with this line and protecting the franchise? The defense is miles ahead of this offense and I would like to see it get help. This team is not in a position to get Henderickson and have be a factor right now. Two years from now maybe but what will he look like then. Agree to disagree and at the end of the day its not up to us to decide.

Why is the only transaction that posters favored is one near the top of our needs? Should we ignore all possible upgrades other than LG? Really?

We always have lots of needs.

If Vrabel thinks that ANY transaction will help the team win this year and over the next three, he should go forward, even suing draft picks if Vrabel thinks that the value is there.
Parsons yes..Henderickson no for reasons already stated.

Dugger and White, make the most sense maybe Jennings?
I wouldn’t count out trading Mapu and Austin
Austin? Why not James? Then we have 3-injury prone CBs and no backups!

We need MORE corners not fewer.

Wolf, Cowden & co. need to do better than this:

From August 11:
Bernard is an undrafted rookie who also spent time with the Titans this offseason. He was actually cut from Tennessee to make room for the addition of Davis-Price on the second of June.

He played six years at Utah, only taking over the starting role in his final year in college. In 2024, he posted 197 carries for 1,009 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Notably, he recorded 99 receptions at the college level, turning those opportunities into 770 yards and five scores.

After Bernard’s release in Tennessee, he worked out with the Seattle Seahawks, New York Giants, Indianapolis Colts and now the Packers.

OK, these are our 3 of our 4 top IOLs.

Who was playing RG other than Onwenu?

Would you have said that in 2001?

The OL has replaced 4 of 5 starters. If there were a good OL available I’d look at him too.
It doesn’t change the fact that edge rusher is certainly a need.

Why do you think the defense is miles ahead of the offense? We may struggle badly to rush the passer. The run defense certainly isn’t not a concern. The safety position is questionable and our top 2 corners are injured.

The job is to win now not give up and wait 2 years to try.

Why? Do you really care which RB who isn’t good enough to be on a 90 man roster they scoop up to get pounded in an exhibition game?

Has Strange become completely irrelevant? I still think he's worth a vet backup role - being decently versatile.
I mean, I would rather have Strange over either Robinson, Sow, Lindstrom... But it's too close to be a 4th year 1st rounder. He's certainly a bust in that regard.
