Not for a 1st Round Pick Pape. Still a stude as a Pass Rusher though. Just wish he was a lot younger.
He’s 30. A lot of big free agent deals are 3 years (with or without fake years added)
This guy is a difference maker.

Wait until you play against a real Defense Maye what's the Defense's sack record in a single game??

We would be very unlikely to get more production in the next four years from our 2026 2nd round pick.

The issue is the cost. This is not a rookie contract bargain.

Per Unfiltered:

- Bradbury, Brown and Wilson rotated at Center and LG today
- Baker not at practice
- Chism makes the 53, Baker does not
- Lazar concerned about Maye reading disguised coverage's
- Lazar: Jennings didn't just get sacks the last game, he also dominated the Tackle
- Lazar: Vrabel seeing is Dugger can play Quarters vs the Vikings
If you aren’t concerned about a qb reading disguised coverages then you wouldn’t disguise coverages. It’s the point of it.

Good players cost money.

Oh crap: Baker's feelings hurt it's destined for IR.

Take it up with Evan. He doesn't know how Maye will react during the season when he has to improvise because of disguised coverage's. THAT is his point. Go argue with AI or something.

Max 3rd cuz that's what they're gonna get when he walks away

Wolf, Cowden & co. need to do better than this:

From August 11:
Bernard is an undrafted rookie who also spent time with the Titans this offseason. He was actually cut from Tennessee to make room for the addition of Davis-Price on the second of June.

He played six years at Utah, only taking over the starting role in his final year in college. In 2024, he posted 197 carries for 1,009 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Notably, he recorded 99 receptions at the college level, turning those opportunities into 770 yards and five scores.

After Bernard’s release in Tennessee, he worked out with the Seattle Seahawks, New York Giants, Indianapolis Colts and now the Packers.

They signed him? Been buried trying to meet a deadline...

Based on the number of work outs he's had this feels like a favor signing, agent working just to get the kids name out there...

Blidi a depth replacement for Iton?

The rb is just a camp body

I honestly think Maye is thinking too much in this McDaniels offense and it seems his throwing motion footwork have regressed.

we gotta give Van Pelt where credit is due.

However he e do still have what’s his face working with him from last year.
So that has to help a bit.
Well handing off doesn't require much brains: so if Maye having issues just hand it off to Henderson - Rham or Gibby.

Yes, from the team perspective any additions at this point are health insurance policies for those that are already roster locks (i.e., camp bodies).

From the player's perspective it is a six-day, one-game audtion for the practice squad.

Blidi's numbers were a lot more promising than Bernard's. I know the pickings are slim right now; but still, slightly surprised that they couldn't find a better RB than him to be used as a short-term tackling dummy.

Would you have said that in 2001?

The OL has replaced 4 of 5 starters. If there were a good OL available I’d look at him too.
It doesn’t change the fact that edge rusher is certainly a need.

Why do you think the defense is miles ahead of the offense? We may struggle badly to rush the passer. The run defense certainly isn’t not a concern. The safety position is questionable and our top 2 corners are injured.

The job is to win now not give up and wait 2 years to try.
The 2000 offensive line was horrendous. No expectations for 2001. BB et al cobbled together an effective line. If we start with Moses, Brown and Bradbury, we are going to need more bodies. I expect a couple at cut down day.

Sacks in the preseason don't necessarily translate into real sacks in the regular season. Reporters record sacks in the preseason based on opinion. Some would clearly be sacks in the regular season. Others would be the defender gets close to the QB, but never really has an opportunity to get a sack.

Bernard did have 1159 all-purpose yards last year in college...not shabby. I don't know who else is out there.

IF Barefoot Mack Hollins can catch on to McDaniels Offense seamlessly. I think K Bourne will too: I'm for Bourne over the Baker possibility. At least Bourne can catch a pass in a real game.
@jimnance @Zuma @manxman2601: Two receivers that really caught my eyes Pre Draft; who seem to come out of nowhere were (((dum roll))).

Detroit didn't need another Elite WR dam it!!
