PATRIOTS TRAINING CAMP Patriots/Packers joint practice 8/17/23

Our schedule this year is actually brutal on paper.
The only games I feel confident winning are NO, WAS, IND, DEN.
On the other hand, the only games I think we have no shot are @BUF, vsKC
If we return to solid Patriot football, we could be in every game. I think we can split with all 3 divisional teams.
10-7 seems like a reasonable guess.
Nah we can beat KC and steal one vs Buffalo

Bill always has a plan vs Reid

I still want to see Mac and the starters play at least a quarter if not a half in a non-controlled environment, no redo's etc...

Zappy could also use a couple of drives; but I agree that Cunningham should play the majority of the QB snaps, and a few at WR too.

As DeVante Parker pulled in a 40-yard bomb from Mac Jones to cap off the first team reps at the end of practice, the entire Patriots team stormed the field in celebration. It felt like a moment that should carry this team forward into the regular season.

Good sign that the chemistry is right with this year’s squad.

It could look a lot like last year's game #2. Quarter for Mac. A drive or 2 for QB2, then the rest for QB3, although this year I'm thinking a quarter and a half each for Zap and Cunningus.

1. Bad Packers team?
2. BOB effect?
3. Mac’s growth?
4. Better skill positional players than perceived?

1. Possibly; definitely not a PO team.

2. Absolutely; but anything would've been better than the Double-Doink the Clowns Effect from last year.

3. Let's hope so, because the Mac from his first two years simply isn't good enough to take us where we want to go.

4. Zeke will help of course, but not having an Alpha in the WR room's gonna hurt, as will Gesicki's absence if it extends into the season.

Anyone ever have Orange Sunshine?

Ok ... Time to get my glasses updated. I saw this as Trot Nixon catching that deep pass from Zappe.
Sign the beast. Should of been a Patriot instead of a Sox anyway!

Sunkist or Fanta...tell me you were rich or poor without telling me you were rich or poor...

Orange Kool lade is excluded per the former resident of the Prospect Hill projects!

Article says that Zeke had dinner with Mac and Rhamondre. We had seen the pic of Mac and Zeke sitting together but we didn’t know who else was there. Sounds like Schefter found out Stevenson was too. That’s pretty neat, you’d think initially that there’d be some competitiveness there but it seems as though Stevenson is really pleased about the signing. I bet Mac is happy to have two solid three-down backs.

How was I being negative Ken?
Sorry HR if you took my comment as being personally directed AT you. Upon reflexion my comment was more the result of the general negativity that I was feeling from the thread than your comment specifically The only thing you stated that could have been construed negative was that you were worried about the OL, a very necessary aspect of that good running game we all hope we have..

I can understand why most are severely worried. Personally I'm not nearly as worried (at this moment in time) because I might be more patient than many. Things CAN improve as we saw from today's practise. I'm guess the OL played better today and they are STILL missing 2 starters. So maybe the depth isn't as bad as we thought as well.

At any rate it was still only ONE practise. Lets see how the game looks and what happens next week. Can they string these good practises together. Building a football team is a constantly evolving process, even at a HS level, and a much more difficult and complex level in the pros. The best coaching jobs are when you can see small incremental improvements over the course of a long season. When we were at our best December and January were our two best months. The last 3 years they haven't.
