If I read the OP right, Mankins was eligible before Vinatieri? How does that work? Mankins was a great player but he doesn't have the same magic moments, or even rings, like the other two.

Mankins last year was 2015. He has been a finalist twice before, in 2022 & 2023. the 2024 class was TFB. no one else was considered. Mankins doesn't have the bling, doesn't play a glamor position, but was one hell of a Lineman.

Vinatieri last year was 2019. this is his first year of eligibility.

I changed my vote. I initially put Edelman just because. But since only one can get in, Adam gets the vote for his early dynasty kicks. Had he missed those kicks, Pats may have gotten their first title in 2003.

you can't discount guys because the played for other teams... Randy Moss would make it in, would probably be a first ballot type guy...

a visual if you will... if you discount guys who played/coached for other teams, this is what your HoF would look like...

It's not about always being on one team but what team a specific player or coach really belongs to is usually pretty apparent by where most people remember him most. Sometimes like with AV it's a true split. But for Tuna's case no one thinks of him as a Patriot and this thing is a sham.

I look at the impact the player/coach/contributor had on the franchise
Adam - ask a random guy off the street, and anywhere but Indy what would they say? The Patriots Kicker...

the tickets were not $99...

edited the numbers... the 93 tickets were $11 a seat...
11 dollars a ticket... 16 games + 2 preseason games... $198 per seat x 4 seats, so $792 for the whole year...

they raised the prices after the super bowl appearance, and they went to 17/game... by the time we were done after 2008, it was 117 per ticket... 106 dollar increase (964%) from 93 to 08

There are a lot of games and players that could've changed the trajectory of both dynasties. I think many are underrating the importance of the Malcolm Butler interception. The Seahawks locker room became divided after that that loss. Had Malcolm allowed a TD, dropped it and they eventually scored, I think Tom Brady would've ended up leaving soon after. The look of defeat on his face as the Seahawks were driving at ease downfield isn't talked about because they won. There's video of Brady on the sideline fearing it was happening again. Bill would've gotten annihilated by the media for the non time out and the narrative would've been the Pats defense had allowed 3 straight defensive collapses. Fingers would've been pointed and I think Brady gets traded to SF where Jimmy G takes over in 2016.

Before that, we have the anti Butler in Samuel. Had Samuel done his job by not dropping an INT and then daydreaming on the next play, the 2007 Pats are without question the best team in NFL history.

Just by saying legends for the other two, I instantly eliminated Mankins. Another year he might get in.

Edelman was a SB MVP, had a historic clutch catch for the ages in another SB, and another clutch grab and GWTD in another Super Bowl. Vinatieri won two SB with late kicks, and made the greatest most clutch kick in team history against the Raiders.

Edelman was a Patriot lifer who connected with the fans. Vinatieri played here 10 years and then joined our archrivals.

Winner: Edelman.

Both of them belong in the HOF.

I honestly believe at least a percentage of Brady's longtivity is due to pass rushers being scared Mankins would pull a shiv on them if they hit him late or over the top hard. I also want him in before the second dynasty flood starts Gronk, hightower, McCourty are all first ballot locks. Edelman and Adam have a strong enough case they are on par with those guys so they might not have to wait awhile. Which brings me to why i voted Edelman. He has a strong enough case to get in over a Hightower or McCourty then he definitely has a case over Mankins, much as i loved him. This is a fan vote and most fans do not understand and appreciate good line play, they do see winning superbowl MVP catching everything thrown at him that game.just a flashier more big games position. I'd actually expect a landside like over 70% of the vote and Adam will get in, in a couple years after Gronk and probably one of the 2nd dynasty defenders. Mankins will have to wait until guys like sweet feet are up for.consideration to have a shot.

1) Vinatieri
2) Edelman
3) Mankins

I'm 57 years old. From 1968 until 2001 my Pats experience was mostly suckitude. Every year was either suck or just good enough to fail in the playoffs. Even when they made it to the SB they didn't look like they belonged.

Then AV made that kick in the snow. It wasn't another failure. And then Brady went down but DB stepped up. Then the absolute underdog role against the Greatest Show on Turf. I sat on a couch in my new apartment just after separating from my first wife and moving to Michigan for a new job with my four year old son curled up in the crook of my knees and my one year old sleeping in my arms. And AV kicked 48 yards for the Pats first SB win. And it was just the absolute perfect moment I needed.

That's not to take away from JE. Great personal story for the 3-28 game as well. Visiting in Salem MA and at a new friends house and the walls were shaking. But without AV and the first dynasty guys it's not the same.

And RK - FU for not putting Bill in before Parcells. He and Brady should have been put in at the same time and you blew it.
