Coverage by McCourty was good; too bad he never located the football.
Agreed. And although coaches, staffs will coach their guys to do certain things in certain areas. Looking back, imo , is a natural trait for certain players.

That was a great play by Watson too

Interesting look at cost effectiveness of NFL offenses.

Great clip! No one has more sacks than Jones over the last three years. Brown made that look really easy.
Hes so comfortable w his hands in pass pro its not funny. Seen him snatch/trap a few great rushers the past year.

Our Oline is legit. Very happy there.

That was One play, during which the QB released the ball quickly. I don't believe that is indicative of anything at all, and Certainly not of Brown's ability to successfully produce at LT for the NEP.

Hopefully Ill have some time tonight to post more in here but Ive been too busy lately.

Just a reminder that running the ball is situational football. Pass = win & as usual the Pats are ahead of the curve.

Yep.

Our pass-rushing "ability" Sucks, badly.

And Adrian Clayborn's presence here will move the needle only slightly.

And if Derek Rivers is not an Immediate producer, then we will have the same problems this season that we had last season.

I think it depends on how effective the addition of Shelton and VV are. If the front seven isn't over compensating for a gaping hole in the middle of the D line it could add up to more pressure on the QB overall.

Does being 31% more successful than running attempts mean that 31% more yards are gained?

I wonder how that % translates if broken-down into categories such as shotgun vs under-center formations for both running and passing attempts on 2nd/10 after an INC.

Believe it or not, the Patriots have just above the average cap resources devoted to defense. I suppose this is somewhat inflated by the Gilmore and McCourty contracts. I hope our secondary lives up to its billing next year. I've been pretty complimentary of our defense, overall, but I'm aware there's considerable room for improvement.

Another reason why Bill should've drafted Justin Reid instead of the Duke (but Not of Dorchester), so that pressure could be placed on the over-rated & over-paid McCourty to restructure his albatross of a contract to better-reflect his actual value.

Flowers might not have gaudy sack numbers, but he is definitely the most skilled pass rusher on this team. Take a look through these clips for a masterclass in versatility and technique.

EDIT: It's a Twitter thread (which is an online abomination, but that's beside the point), so you'll need to go to the link and then scroll through all the rest of the breakdowns.

It will be interesting to see how Flowers does with the full time switch to the left side. That hasn’t been mentioned nearly as much as it should, in my opinion.
