Patriots Cuts

I would say that Stidham has more talent than Peterman. Only problem is that he is raw and inexperienced. I can see why some say keep 3 QBs because Stidham is a 4th round pick while Jimmy G was a 2nd round pick.
Peterman sux honestly

You’d think reports of his release would have been accompanied by rumors of his return, however. This has always been a possibility. Belichick is loathe to keep 3 QBs. Especially if he thinks the younger QB has as good a chance to keep the ship right if Brady should go down.

This is the day that “In Bill I Trust” rings truest to me. You will disagree with this but Belichick has peers and perhaps superiors when it comes to acquiring players, but he has no peers whatsoever when it comes to knowing what players to keep or how to use them.
But then Jordan Richards happens and stays on the roster.

If Hoyer can get real money, wouldn't some team have offered a 7th for him and picked up this contract?
I would think they could get him for less than that given that it will be on top of what the Pats are giving him.

Exactly....that’s why Hoyer was cut....BB knows what he is doing like u said....no need for Hoyer

I have egg on my face right now, but after the IR moves are done, I expect to eat that egg (in an omelet...with mushrooms and cheese....and a bit of hot sauce)

I find your right more times then not.

I read it as he gets money from both teams but Patriots get the cap they lost this season back next season.
He also loses the cash too if the offset language is there (as is typical)

Too many Hoyer fanboys here. Moving on from him like we did with Mallett.
It's not necessarily being a "fanhoy" it's reading the tea leaves. IF the Pats were set on going with 2 QB's why not get something back in a trade. Just off the top of my head the Colts and Lions are 2 no brainer trade partners. The Lions just gave up a 7th to get some guy no one has ever heard of. So if Hoyer was simply waived and see ya later, I'm going to be mightily pissed at the missed opportunity to get something back.

I thought for sure Hoyer was going to be on the team. Egg on the face I guess.

My thoughts as well as that is usually the case. I guess we’ll wait and see.

Johnson isn't going anywhere. He's guaranteed a Practice Squad Roster Spot. He has never counted against the 90 man roster and he won't count against the Practice Squad roster.

I was speaking of the 53.

I don't know what announcement it will take to confirm he's going to the practice squad, but right now he is considered on the main roster by those covering the team.

Terez Hall cut. 98.5 sports hub

Munsom and Gunner are the only guys i feel sorry for losing
Munson would seem like a mistake but in BB we trust!

We really don’t know that yet. Quite possible they want to get some guys on IR on the 53 first.

Don’t watch skip and Shannon. That show is pure cancer.

His release was announced by Twitter a few minutes ago. Where would reporting abiy hus return come from? Why would anyone want to make that public?

So if Hoyer is brought back in a couple of days or after week 1, do you apply your thinking to the opposite of that?
Is bb a genius for cutting him and then also a genius for not really cutting him?

I trust bb to make the right decision. I also know that temporarily cutting a qb3 who won’t want to leave if it’s temporary, in order to give himself roster flexibility is something he will do.
Otherwise who did he cut temporarily in order to:
Place anyone on Ir that he wants to be able to return (since you have to make the 53)
Keep extra OL since he is keeping 3 new guys he just traded for that haven’t practiced yet.
